My journey to Islam:Be careful of what you ask for.

I received the Qur’an after I had a conversation with the Creator. I asked Hū for the truth and a man who sold drugs, had dreads, a deep voice and was from up north. Hū delivered it. I did not realize it until months after I was given it. It was as if I had been in a daze before Allah allowed me to realize it. I remember being outside screaming to the sky, telling Allah how much I hated him. I didn’t want to believe there was a Creator; the very thought use to nauseate me. If you had witness the things I had growing up, you would know why I say I never looked forward to the next day. My tears were the only constant. I could depend on them. My childhood was so unstable. At any time I could or would be moved from home to home. Everyday I hope for death. As a child I never had the relationship with death as others did. My mother died when I was young and my father before her. Death amazed me more than anything, the thought that a person could leave all of their problems and possessions and move on was fascinating to me. The thought always seemed peaceful. I searched for this peace in alcohol and drugs. I remember my teenage years passing in a cloud of weed and a drunken haze. School and work was the only time I allowed myself to be sober. I didn’t care about tomorrow. The only thing that motivated me was knowing that I had to depend on me.

A couple weeks after having my conversation with The Creator, my older cousin moved out of my aunt’s house. My aunt asked me did I want to move out as well. She knew I could handle the responsibility because I worked two jobs, was in high school and I didn’t depend on or ask her for anything. She also charged me rent for living with her. Moreover, I spent most of my time alone but still I was scared to finalize it. Moving meant that the loneliness that I felt inside was permanent. I also feared that the silence would become to loud. Becoming an adult was something I had been waiting on since my mother died. It was a chance for freedom. It also meant that I would be as alone as I felt. I was always the black sheep of the family. I stick out now even more that I am muslim. But I digress.

The apartment that was originally chosen by my cousin flooded and she had to move across town into a different apartment. After moving there she came to my job and told me that she had met someone that she thought would be perfect for me. She told me the only problem was that he was short. The first thing I told her was I didn’t find short guys attractive. She knew this and we both laughed. I guess I should of knocked on wood because he eventually became my first husband.

Several weeks later I was at my cousin’s apartment and my cousin came in upset. I ask her what was wrong. She told me that she was upset at the upstair’s neighbors. Her neighbors were none other than my ex husband and several others. They used the apartment for a trap spot. They had multiple homes like this throughout Atlanta. Because of this I didn’t see him much but we did meet before that time. My cousin said she was upset because they wouldn’t take her to the store. Now if you see my cousin you would realize why that is a shock. Men do not simply tell her no. I asked her why did they do this. She said because she had alcohol and they told her it was forbidden. As soon as I heard her say this I ran upstairs and questioned them. I wanted to know what they believe. I ask them so many questions that I upset them. They didn’t like my interrogation. My nature has always been to question everything. I remember the youth pastor brought me books because i asked so many questions in Sunday school and bible study. It was this questioning that lead me away from Christianity. My ex-husband and his friends said that they could answer my questions but they would not tell me because I wasn’t ready for it. I never looked down a challenge so I told him to try me. He then passed me a Qur’an. The first verse I opened it to was.

Did He not find you an orphan and give [you] refuge? 93:6

Tears start streaming down my face uncontrollably. These words ripped through my heart. I couldn’t control my emotion so I left their house. It took me some time to open the Quran again and it was not until after I had a conversation with the Devil. I ask him to give me a night I would not forgot. I beg all those who read this. Never ask for that which you don’t want. I don’t regret what happened but it opened my eyes to the direction i didn’t want to take. Even in the midst of that experience Allah presented many signs that made me realize that I had to accept Islam. If not my future would have been bleaker than my past.

My Journey to Islam: Miracles happen everyday.

My life has been a series of hardships and unwelcome experiences. It also contains countless stories of success and that which would be classified as miracles. My mother gave birth to me at the age of fifteen. She proceeded to have three more children before her untimely death at the age of twenty-one. Moreover, my father had died several years prior to her so her death was especially hard on me. Strangely, I knew she had died before I was informed. I had a dream of her telling me goodbye and that she loved me. Needless to say their death has always been imprinted on my soul. Because of their death I knew that dying was apart of life and I was in constant reflection of my own existence. After the death of my mother, my siblings and I left our hometown and moved to Alabama with our mother’s mother.

My grandmother had her own children living with her. We joined them in their small trailer. My aunt is a year younger than me and my uncle is a year older. Our closeness in age made the transition easier for us but my grandmother was overwhelmed. I believe the burden of raising extra children without support was too much and eventually we were given to the state. Once entering the system my siblings, aunt, and uncle was separated into different homes. In the beginning the system tried very hard to keep us together but as the years passed our family meetings became more infrequent until eventually we lost contact. We didn’t met each other again until well into our adulthood. I spent the next four years moving from home to home until my father’s family found me. Upon finding me, I left the foster system and move in with my paternal family. My father’s mother was a beacon of strength in my life, but problems with some male members of the family caused me to act out until eventually I ran away and my aunt invited me to moved in with her to Atlanta. I truly believe my aunt saved my life. She was a huge benefit during that time and watching her allowed me to blossom into a young woman. While living in my aunt’s house I was required to go to church several times a week. The bible became a pillar in my teenage years. Even as I strayed in my belief system and became rebellious I was constantly brought back to its text. After every sin I committed I would ask forgiveness. I searched constantly for ways to numb my pain. Alcohol and marijuana was my poison of choice, but alcohol made it difficult for me to control myself, and I dislike not having complete control over my actions. It was my work ethic that pulled me away from becoming addicted to these substances. I knew I had to provide for myself. During my teenage years I had several jobs as well as attended school as a full time student. My aunt did not make life easy for me. She made me struggle for everything. If I wanted food I had to buy it. This applied to my clothes, personal items and any other things that were needed. Moreover, in order to go anywhere I had to give her gas money or I had to walk to my destination. I grew up knowing that there were no free rides.

In my life I was never given anything for free. I had to strive hard for it or it came with stipulations. My aunt and her husband required that I payed rent while living with them. At the time her treatment angered me and I soon distanced myself, but now as an adult I recognize the wisdom. This hard work taught me to work towards my goals. I learned not to expect anything from anyone. I also learned to not wait for or on anyone. If I wanted something I knew I had to work hard for it. Years passed as I grew from my experiences. Working allowed me to escape from trying to find ways to self medicate the pain I carried within. I engaged in dangerous activities and became friends with people who were hustlers. It became my dream to become the biggest hustler the world had ever seen. I devised a plan to make money by selling drugs, but it seemed as if another direction was destined for me.

One night after my eighteenth birthday my whole world began to crash around me. The drugs and alcohol were not enough to numb the pain that resided in my heart, nor did it drown out the voices in my head. I begin to lose hope in life and I tried for the third time to commit suicide. I took two bottles of pills but my body rejected it. I ended up laying in my own pool of vomit on the bathroom floor. My aunt came home and saw me in this weaken state and told me that the next time i wanted to kill myself that I should go to the kitchen and grab a knife. That way i would be successful and there would be no chance for failure. Her words hurt me but knowing that no one would care if i died hurt worse. Soon after that experience I decided to have a conversation with the Creator. I went outside at midnight and begin to scream at the sky. I told Allah that I didn’t believe He existed and if He did I hated him. I asked Him why did He allow everybody in my life to hurt me or use me. I didn’t understand what I had done to God to deserve such treatment. I envied my peers who had their parents to protect and give them that which children desired. I ask the Creator to prove His existence by making some leaves by my foot move. As soon as those words left my mouth three gushes of wind came that shook every tree in the neighborhood. The wind dried the tears that were streaming from my eyes. The hair on my arms stood in acknowledgement of what had happened. I could not deny the experience but I did try to explain it away. I thought it was a fluke. I wanted to be sure of what had happened so I ask for two more items. I asked for a man that would love me. I ask that he be a drug dealer from up north with a deep voice and locs. I also ask that I be given the truth from the Creator. Two months later I met my first husband who had just become muslim. He was a drug dealer with locs from New Jersey with a deep voice and he presented me my first Quran. It took me months to realize that all i had ask for had come to reality. When the realization hit I cried for days. The Creator had given me all that I had ask for. I felt as if my soul was freed from bondage. The first verse I read in the Quran forever changed my life. It brought such ease to my heart.

Did He not find you an orphan and give [you] refuge? 93:6

I have chosen Islam as my belief system. I take the Quran as my source of guidance and my Lord as my strength. I have lived through multiple suicide attempts, rapes, depression, abandonment and hopelessness. Islam took me away from this and alleviate me of my internal ills while elevating my position within the world. Allah’s book has inspired and soothed me countless times and it has lead me to become a better person. I can never complain about anything that has happened to me. I can only embrace it and be grateful that my journey has brought me here. I am a hebrew muslim womb-man and I am finally enjoying this experience called life.

Is Free Speech threatened by the Gay Agenda: My perspective on the Chick-fil-a controversy.

Recently a controversy has arisen concerning the popular fast food chain, Chick-Fil-A. I must admit I love the company and this opinion is partly influenced by the fact that Chick-Fil-A was my first job and the experience instilled certain life long values within me. Now the companies policy of kindness, respect, and making every customer feel like a friend is being called into questioned by the members of the homosexual community. Mr. Cathy’s opinions of marriage and his charity contributions have been called to question by outraged supporters of gay marriage. Although there are no formal complaints of Mr. Cathy denying jobs to gay workers or discriminating against gay patrons, many are calling for a protest of the large chain.

The public outcry has become surprisingly large and it is very disturbing. Mr. Cathy has openly expressed in his mission statement that his company is a Christian organization. To emphasize this point the company is closed on Sunday in observation of what they believe to be the Sabbath. This knowledge alone should suffice those who have question of his ideology. Instead of allowing his opinion and his right to believe as he likes, gay supporters everywhere have chosen to bully the company for their position. This aggressive behavior which i have personally encountered from multiple gays on Facebook and other social sites has lead me to believe that homosexuals are trying to force people to accept them and silence those who don’t.

It has become very obvious that homosexuality has reached a peak in our society. One can not turn on the television without seeing and hearing about gays and their activities. We are bombarded with these images in advertising and the media. Children are becoming accustomed to seeing these relationships. The very culture has become assimilated throughout our civilization. I clearly remember an incident in an Atlanta mall with a man dressed provocatively as a woman sucking a penis sucker. It was embarrassing for all the families that witness this. To add insult to injury we are shamed for wanting to protect our children from such perversity. Those who speak out against these type of behaviors are told that we are bigoted. Furthermore, more horrifying is that homosexuality is being coupled with African Americans and our struggle. I was sickened to see a shirt that stated homosexuality is the new black as if the two can be compared or are interchangeable. Why are we being forced to accept this as apart of our reality? It is my opinion that they are allowed to be with whom they want but why are we forced to know their sexual escapades? Why are we forced into their bedrooms?

It is obvious that a global trend is underway to silence those who speak against the gay movement. This is especially frightening because if continued the threats to free speech are imminent. If the homosexual community is successful in their bully efforts they could essentially dismiss and dismantle the values of millions. I am of the opinion that if we are forced to accept their lifestyle they should be forced to accept ours. Accept that we don’t want our children witnessing perverse activity. Why does their sexuality have to be put on display? It is as if this is their claim to greatness. We understand that gays want to be accepted but you can not make anyone like you. It is my opinion that they should focus on liking themselves. I do not advocate anyone mistreating homosexuals or hurting them but that courtesy should be extended. Homosexuals should consider how their behavior affects those who don’t agree with their lifestyle.

I realize that this article may draw attack from those who agree with the homosexual community. So to answer those who may say I am against gay people I must say I am not. I have no ill feelings for those who engage in those activities. I don’t believe it is my business to be in the bedroom of others. However, I do believe it is my business when raunchy, provocative acts are being performed publicly . Moreover, I take offense when others are silenced or disrespected for their opinions. I believe that we all are allowed our opinion as long it causes no harm to another. Mr. Cathy’s opinions harms no one. His money is not going to fund the death of homosexuals nor is he oppressing them. If gays are so upset with civil rights i suggest they rally the government to stop killing black, red, and brown people overseas and domestic.

The Benefits of Sleep.

As children, we often resisted the urge to sleep. However, upon reaching adulthood we learn just how important the role of sleep plays in maintaining the natural balance of our mind and body. Historically individuals have sought to understand the underlying mechanics behind sleep and its effects on the body and mind. However, many people are still ignorant of the full benefits and advantages of having a healthy sleep cycle. Once this information becomes widely known, experts believe that many will experience a better quality of life than they had prior. Sleep has also shown to be highly effective and beneficial for healing the body, retaining information, and rejuvenating the mind. Big businesses and corporations have also now taken an interest, studying the effectiveness of utilizing sleep in ways that can boost productivity and company morale. Some companies have incorporated sleep into their work environment, providing employees with areas where they can take quick naps (Johnson 2010). There are designated areas where employees can go that are designed to provide for optimal rest and relaxation. Very few companies offer this perk, but more may consider this as an option if it is shown to increase productivity. It can therefore be argued that if Americans were educated on the numerous benefits of sleeping, more people would suggest that we adopt this as an alternative to the current system that is being utilized. Due to a lack of awareness among the public, many arent aware that much of what they lack health wise is directly correlated to their individual sleep patterns. When we do not get enough sleep, we feel fatigued, drained, mentally disconnected, stressed, frustrated, and we may also fall victim to illnesses and diseases (Let Sleep Work for You 2011).
Sleeping is just as important as eating because the lack of either or both is known to cause death. Many researchers have begun to shed light on the many advantages of sleep. Never before has so much information been gathered. I will attempt to highlight within this paper the benefits of taking that nap you may have been skipping. The body will thank you for it. Sleep is good for healing the body, retaining information and rejuvenating the mind.

For most, as we grow older it seems as if the body is always craving sleep. Sleep deprivation has become so prevalent that billion dollar companies have emerged, all producing products with the aim of manipulating the natural sleep cycle, thus giving an individual the ability to create artificial sleep patterns (Ravelingien, and Sandberg 2008). These products and methods are often used to trigger responses in the brain that will either induce the sleep state or delay it, primarily by reducing or increasing the frequency of the brain waves(Hall 1998). As is the case with most pharmaceuticals, the body may develop a tolerance after a period of time, thus limiting their effectiveness. Sleep is a natural part of life that creation relies upon in order to survive. It is a neccessity of life, and without it, none would have the ability to grow, to heal, to learn, to hunt, to defend, or to think. All of these activities which are deemed necessary for survival relies upon sleep. However, both the quality and quantity of sleep varies from person to person, from culture to culture, and civilization to civiliation. Some may not understand that there is a strong correlation between sleep and a healthy lifestyle. Everyone sleeps but only those enjoy the full benefits that maximize the opportunity for deep, sound sleep. Furthermore, research has shown that sleep deprivation over an extended period of time can result in numerous health complications (Ravelingien and. Sandberg 2008). Most people, when asked about problems with sleeping are quick to mention their experience with sleep deprivation. However, there are others who say that they sleep too much, and are looking for ways to stay awake. The average amount of time spent sleeping for most people is six to eight hours per night. Children and the elderly are the exception ( Smith, Robinson and Segal 2012). Research has shown that excessive amounts of sleep or an excessive lack thereof will have an adverse effect on one’s health (Catharine 2007). However, sources do suggest napping to refresh ourselves throughout the day (Milner, 81-272) Some countries allow their employees to take siesta (mid day nap) throughout the day. The residents of these countries are described as being happy and productive. Much of what people are experiencing in regards to health complications can be avoided by ensuring that the quantity and the quality of sleep are sufficient for their age and bodily needs. For example, infants from birth to two months old should get 12-18 hours of sleep per day, while adults are recommended to sleep 7-9 hours per day (Smith, Robinson and Segal 2012). Sleep consists of two primary stages: REM and non-REM (nREM). Individuals normally start the sleep process with a period of nREM, which is comprised of 4 stages. The deeper one falls asleep, the further one progresses through the stages. At some point we enter the REM sleep stage, which lasts only a short durations. It is at this point that we begin to dream. REM sleep usually begins ninety minutes afer entering the sleep state, typically lasting ten minues with recurring intervals. The final interval may last up to one hour ( Adolescent Sleep Needs and Patterns 2012).Amongst the spiritual community, the importance of sleep is highly emphasized and we have found mention of it within various religious writings, such as in the Qur’an where it is likened unto death.

“It is Allah Who takes away the souls of people at the hour of their death, and takes away at the time of sleep the souls of those that have not died. Then He retains the souls of those against whom He had decreed death and returns the souls of others till an appointed time. Surely there are Signs in this for a people who reflect” (Crowds 325).

There have been numerous studies conducted by researchers seeking to reveal all the benefits of sleep. Sleep is vital, and if it is not properly regulated the body can and will eventually shut down. Even a slight sleep disturbance is harmful for the body. Sleeping gives the body an opportunity to strengthen and recharge itself from the day’s activities. The Department of Psychiatry at the University of California studied 42 healthy men who were deprived of sleep. The scientist measured the participants’ immune cell activity. The study revealed that as the amount of time a person spends sleeping lessens, so too does the body’s natural built-in defense system, otherwise known as the immune system. The less a person slept, the greater the chance that he/she may experience inflammatory cytokines. Cytokines can be classified as proteins, peptides, or glycoproteins produced in the body. As the amount of time spent sleeping declines, so to does the number of cells that protect against germs and ward off disease (Sleep helps people learn complicated tasks 2008). With all the negative reviews on the lack of sleep, naturally one would believe sleeping more would increase health benefits; however this may not be the case. People who sleep in excess of what is recommended have been shown to experience similiar symptoms as those who have suffered from sleep deprivation. In fact, sleeping in excess or not enough sleep places many at high risk of premature death (Catharine 2007). There is also a direct correlation with sleep issues and being overweight (Evans et al 197). One benefit of a successful sleep cycle is that the immune system performs its own in-house maintenance while sleeping. When we are asleep our body has the opportunity to repair itself. Sleep promotes major antidotal functions such as muscle growth, and tissue repair. Protein synthesis, the growth hormone is also released during these times (Why do we sleep 2007). We have often been told an apple a day keeps the doctor away. It may be a nap and a good night sleep is truly what promotes good health. Many believe that while asleep the brain engages in passive pursuits such as dreaming and rest. During this time, the brain begins a process of cateloguing and storing information. Numerous studies have highlighted the correlation between higher test scores and sleep. The University of California recently revealed a study that shed light on how the brain retains information. The University’s researchers examined 200 college students, mainly consisting of women. The purpose of the study was to examine the correlation of proper amounts of sleep and its effect on memory recall. The study also revealed that sleeping assists the mind in the learning of complicated tasks. It also showed that the mind recalls forgotten information (Stanford 1996). If a person goes for an extended period without sleep, the mind will begin to lose retention of the information that was retained that very day. Although, it is normal to experience memory loss at random moments throughout our lives, there is a fear that it could lead to long-term memory loss if continued over a prolonged period of time. Once a person is able to rest adequately, the body can perform the necessary repairs to those areas that are in need. Sleep has proven to be an excellent solution for those who want to retain the information learned and to solidify it within the memory. This finding should assist and excite Americans.

Multiple published studies have suggested that there is a direct correlation of inadequate sleep and psychological stress. These controlled studies utilize various approaches to manipulate sleep quantity/quality in order to research the effects of insufficient sleep upon the human psyche (Benham 2010). It is not clear if one is the cause of the other. One thing that is clear is that sleep quality/quanity and psychological stress are both issues that should be examined by one’s doctor. Doctors have been known to prescribe melatonin medication to individuals who are affected with psychological issues that hinder them from sleeping properly. Melatonin has been shown to be a natural regulator of the circadian rhythm (Melatonin and Sleep 2012). This approach is controversial because little is known of the mechanisms involved. Not sleeping properly has been affiliated with an assortment of mental disorders such as but not limited to memory lapse, energy depletion, drowsiness, and emotional stress. Sleep deprived people lose the ability to concentrate and maintain focus. The common opinion is that sleep allows one to approach problems with a clear head. The participants are refreshed resulting in optimal mental performance. Sleeping also assist in building neural connections that helps form our memory. Sadly there is no clear evidence on how sleep achieves this. The primary reason for mental clarity after sleep is the reduction of the concentration of the sleep chemical, adenosine, in the brain. Adenosine is a nucleoside composed of a molecule of adenine attached to a ribose sugar molecule (ribofuranose) moiety via a β-N9-glycosidic bond. It is also an inhibitory neurotransmitter. It is believed to play an extensive role in assisting sleep and suppressing arousal, with levels increasing with each hour an organism is awake. It is the buildup of this chemical that makes us perceive that we are tired. Once we fall asleep, it is then processed and recycled for use the next day. Sleeping even an hour less a day could result in adenosine remaining in the brain. One of the implications of this is continued drowsiness throughout the day (Blanco 2006). Recorded are muliple benefits of having a healthy sleep cycle. Some of these benefits helps with mood, alertness, cognitive perfomance, and decreased levels of perceived fatigue. Evans et al sorted nappers and non nappers based on how frequently they napped (1970). They reported that habitual nappers felt more refreshed and focus. Many turn to energy drinks, caffeine and sugar to overcome the effects of sleep deprivation, only to worsen the situation. In conclusion, there is no replacement for sleep. Despite the obvious implications, many people attach very little importance to ensuring they are getting enough sleep, as long as they have a Starbucks coffee to jolt them awake, and they can get through an eight hour shift, they are content, for a while. There’s been an increase in advertising directed towards people who are suffering from sleep deprivation. For some, this demonstrates the growing concern in the minds of the American people. It is in the best interest of every individual to allacote the right amount of time to sleep so that it functions properly the next day.

I believe in love. It is my mantra.

I believe in love. Everything about it excites me. I accept the good of it as well as the bad. I embrace all the smiles and the tears. I knowingly submit to its sweet taste and bitter burn. I have loved and I have lost. I have also learned that I must love even if no one loves me. It hurts when a love one departs from my life but I believe broken hearts are lessons that teach far more than book. At times love makes me feel as if my very essence is being shaken. I become stable in the fact that it is love that is the constant. Love goes against all logic. Naturally as humans we do everything to protect ourselves but a part of loving is leaving the heart unprotected. The dictionary defines love as an intense emotional connection. I do not think those words properly define what love truly is. I would define it as a feeling that takes over the heart and ignites the soul. I have never experienced nor witnessed a feeling so strong and reassuring. It cradles the soul and heals all wounds. I have seen love transform the bleakest of moments. Love is so powerful that it influences our decisions as well as strengthen our will. It is a force so strong many individuals crumble under it but I stand firmly grounded ready for all that it brings. I believe love inspires, transforms people and can cure humanity of all its ill.

I do not believe any emotion inspires people the way love has. Famous works of arts, magnificent architecture and beautiful melodies have been created to narrate the lover’s tale. Many of humans dedicate their deeds to make their love ones happy. The family unit’s foundation is built upon love. I believe without it the family would crumble. It is within the family that children learn the tenets of love. The child learns how to interact with others and duplicate the loving relationships they learned at home. The relationship formed within the family influences relationships outside of it. Children learn how to interact positively with others. They treat others with love because they were treated with it. They grow to be selfless human beings that teaches others how to love. The love we have for each other influences our daily decisions. Many of our shopping habits are fueled by love. We buy things that we believe will attract others. There is a yearning in us to be accepted by others.I have heard multiple men and relationship counslers say that men purchase items based on women approval. I imagine our lifestyles would be very different if love was not there to inspire us. The cars we drive, the clothes we purchase, the food we eat: All of these are examples of what we supply based on the needs of our love ones.

Many alcoholics and drug addicts have claimed that it was there familie’s love that saved them from the path that they were on. These people at one time were considered hopeless by society but the love of others transformed them from who theyonce were. A perfect example for us to consider would be Helen Keller. She became blind and deaf after a sickness as a infant. Even her parents believed that she could not be taught. Her teacher’s love for her transformed her into a powerful intelligent woman. Love does the opposite of hate. Instead of destroying lives love builds it. Science has recorded many incidents of people, who had love ones present, healed sooner after sickness or surgery than those who had no family present. We also have cases were babies, sick people, and the elderly die if they have no family. Love is the only emotions that motives people to become better than they are.

A lack of wealth or resources Is not the problem with the world. I believe the problem Is a lack of love. Apathy has replaced love within the modern man. Individuals walk around everyday and do not realize the power of loving others. Everyday I see the poor and the hungry. Damage people walk the streets everyday in the hopes of finding someone who cares. The farther humans get from love the more inhumnane I believe we become as a whole. If we cared enough every men, woman, child across the world would be cared for treated with justice. Our non caring spirit has allowed corruption to become normal.Many times those who harm others do so because of their lack of loving relationships. Every murderer begins as a hepless child who seek their guardians love. Many studies suggest that the majority of offenders did not receive love at a young age and this depravation fuel their negative lifestyle. I believe love replaces anger. I also believe love could cure the world of its burden

I love very hard. It resides deep in my core. I never want to live without love. Love is the foundation of creation. It is the only feeling and idea that combines all other emotions. Knowing love and having someone to love makes me feel as if I am equipped to conquer all. The thought of giving myself in love to someone use to scare me but now I know that nothing in life is without risk. I chose to love and to be transformed by love. My wish is to teach my children to love the worlds people. Hopefully the world one day remembers the power of love within ourselves.

The Qur’an: A healing and mercy to mankind

Allah is incorruptible, whole, undivided, complete, impenetrable, pure, oneness. This Supreme Being known as Allah, among other names, revealed a final revelation to mankind called the Quran. The Quran is the final book in a long progression of revelations beginning with the earliest Prophets such as Noah continuing to Abraham, up to Moses and the Prophets of Israel. Allah’s messengers persisted till the completion of the Prophet’s, Muhammad. The Quran is the seal of the revelations. Prophet Muhammad is the seal of the Messengers. In these revelation is wisdom and there is benefit for the human soul. Some of these are consciously observable and some of them are not but yet it is beneficial and the benefit is realized by many Believers. The Quran is written in the classical Arabic Language. It is very similar to Hebrew. This Holy Book is written in a codified language. It also has a built in numerical structure. This is especially interesting for those who are involved in numerology. The Quran is recited in a way that is melodious and soothing to the human psyche. When the Quran is heard it brings the listener into a deep relaxation. If a person is able to understand what the Quran is saying and believes in the Most High then it may even strike them emotionally. The Quran boasts of its ability to not only move the soul but to heal it. It addresses the physical, mental and spiritual of a person. The Quran much like other previous books revealed covers dietary laws, metaphysical healing and judicial rulings. All of these combined to heal mankind.

The human being is more than just flesh and blood. The human being is a spiritual entity as well. Humans are comprised of a physical, mental, and spiritual structure^[1]. Thus we exist in these separate areas. Each one of these areas coupled completes the human. These areas comprise the human consciousness. The mannerisms of the human beings is a culmination of these three things. There are many areas of our Existence that we ignored and some we focus on; namely the physical attributes. When we get sick we go to the doctor. He checks the blood and the body. He then makes an analysis and determines the diagnosis. After diagnosis the doctor offers treatment but the source of the pain is usually not addressed. Mainly the symptoms of ailments in Western Medicine are treated. This is unfortunate because most diseases are caused by a poor diet. The Quran gives detailed methods on what foods are beneficial such as honey, and lentils and it warns to abstain from other foods such as pork and any animals that have died of themselves. Abiding by the dietary laws allow the best possible health benefits. However, since the human is not only flesh and blood it would stand to reason that there are other aspects that must be addressed in order to have optimal health.

Many cultures and religions around the world have developed a concept of spiritual healing. Whether it be Qi Gong, Reiki, or simply the power of Prayer, the world has always known that there is more to man and the world around him than meets the eye. In fact, many ancient writings have surfaced which can be traced back to the earliest writing periods, detailing what knowledge they had concerning the human energy system. For centuries this knowledge has been passed down from generation to generation, each passing generation gaining just a little more insight than the previous or trying to preserve what little they have left. It has been taught that the world consists wholly of energy, and that what we see of the world is in fact, an illusion. It is partially due to this illusion and our acceptance of what we see, touch, taste, smell, and hear alone as real that we are unaware of the other more subtle aspects of the world and how to influence or manipulate it by using our own energy field^[2]. This is ancient knowledge that has reached us today, now being confirmed by science. Many human beings would be surprised that the Quran also confirms it^[3]. Allah challenges man to seek Hū^[4]. Allah states that if man turns to him then he would unlock his potential and raise him to great rank. One example Allah gives is of the Prophet Jesus:

 

[The Day] when Allah will say, “O Jesus, Son of Mary, remember My favor upon you and upon your mother when I supported you with the Pure Spirit and you spoke to the people in the cradle and in maturity; and [remember] when I taught you writing and wisdom and the Torah and the Gospel; and when you designed from clay [what was] like the form of a bird with My permission, then you breathed into it, and it became a bird with My permission; and you healed the blind [from birth] and the leper with My permission; and when you brought forth the dead with My permission; and when I restrained the Children of Israel from [killing] you when you came to them with clear proofs and those who disbelieved among them said, “This is not but obvious magic.”^[5]

 

The human being has the ability to transfer his/her own energy across vast distances and to direct it using mere intent. By simply focussing on someone or something we are in fact focusing a certain amount of energy in the direction of our target. If combined with intent, it could actually be used for a specific purpose, to bring about a specific outcome. For example, almost everyone has prayed for a sick friend or relative at some point in their life and has seen how in some instances people were considered ‘miraculously healed’. Many people have been told that they were going to die or that they had an illness or a condition that could not be cured, but found their condition miraculously healed or healed at an accelerated rate compared to others of similar condition when prayed for by others. There have been experiments where people were used to test whether or not focusing the mind on a certain group of plants could affect the rate and the overall growth in comparison with plants which were not intensely focused upon^[6]. The results were that the plants which were focused upon grew much faster and larger than the other plants. Some have documented an increase in hemoglobin and oxygen in plants watered using ‘prayer enhanced’ water^[7]. This power of prayer has been well documented in Quran.

So, what does this all mean exactly? It means that there really is no separateness in the world. We are all interconnected, whether we see the connections or not. We are also beings consisting of several energy layers; the thickest and most obvious of which is the physical layer, or the outer shell. We know that man is much more than a physical shell as man’s own consciousness exists non-physically. We do not have the ability to physically observe one another’s thoughts and emotions unless expressed or manifested in some way on the outer shell. Furthermore, being that everything stems from cause and effect, the cause of the manifestation on the outer layer is triggered by an impulse from the brain, which is triggered by the mind, which is triggered by the will, and is focused energy with intent. Thus, if man has the ability to commandeer a biological spacesuit using the mental will power generated by his/her consciousness, then what else can the mind do? What else can be influenced on the more subtle layer? Could this explanation be the secret behind prayer and various other healing practices?

Imagine what it would mean to be able to be in any location and still be able to affect anybody or anything from any distance using the power of a focused mind and intent. That would mean that in reality what is taking place is a manipulation of the energy of that thing by causing it to come into contact with energy being channeled using one’s own self as the conductor. Essentially, during prayer a person focuses the energy of the mind on another person in order to heal them. While they are focusing their energy on that person, the energy is passing on to the person being focused upon. This may result in an apparent acceleration in healing for the subject, or they may find themselves feeling mentally rejuvenated or without as much pain or fatigue as they once had. If we were to master the ability to do this, we could do away with traditional medicine along with all of its costliness and then perhaps we would even be able to treat our own illnesses rather than rely upon others.

This newfound understanding could possibly lead to new discoveries on how to fight disease and how to prevent illness. What if the source of the illness isn’t physical at all, but rather exists at the subtle energy level? What if we could spot the problem before it manifested into a physical form by detecting it at a much earlier stage, then by reading and manipulating the energy field to produce another field that is well within the balance that is conducive to natural health and youthful vigor. This is what healing arts such as Reiki and Qi Gong offer; the ability to channel vital life force called ‘Qi’ or ‘Ki’ energy through the body using focus and intent and then channeling it into various parts of the body of the patient, treating areas that are deemed out of balance or where the flow of energy is obstructed. This is all done according to the chakra layout of the body, which is a map that illustrates the major energy points as well as how the energy flows throughout the body. This has been practiced for thousands of years in Asia and is now very popular in the west.

Islam offers a much more complete approach to healing of the self through various means, ranging from various laws and statutes which govern the overall health of the society as well as dietary and spiritual and mental methods of healing at all levels of the human being. All of this comes from the Qur’an, which is a book revealed to the Prophet Muhammad in the 7th Century AD in Arabia. The Qur’an itself is the word of Allah (God), the Almighty, the All-Wise who created the universe and all that it contains. Allah is the Infinite, One, Whole Existence, and nothing exists besides Allah. Thus, all that exists is never exists separately from the One, but rather is by extension of the One, the Creator, the Sustainer, Allah. Thus, it is Allah who is the both the means and the mechanism for healing and the One who could provide the best explanation of the system and how to use it to cure and heal ourselves. Allah is the same God of the Bible, Yahuwah Elohim, the God of Israel. Allah says

 

mankind, there has come to you instruction from your Lord and healing for what is in the breasts and guidance and mercy for the believers.^[8]

 

Another way that healing is promoted is through sound therapy. Alfred Tomatis, a French doctor, experimented for fifty years with the human senses. His results were that hearing is the most valuable sense! He found that the ear controls the whole body. It regulates its vital operations and the balance and coordination of its movements; he also found that the ear controls the nervous system!^[9]

Similarly, the Quran’s recitation consist of frequencies that enter the inner ear which is connected to with all the other body parts. The frequency continues to the brain cells and influences them through the electronic fields. These frequencies generate in these cells; the cells would respond to these fields and modify their vibrations. This change in the vibration is what we feel and understand after experience and repetition.

Another benefit for society would be that it would combat social ills and social injustice. A lot of stress is placed on the human psyche by external environmental conditions. Islam reforms the society through commanding individuals to serve the Creator through the service towards The Creation. Following the Quranic model would eliminate the need for an outside Government and place the responsibility on each individual to govern themselves. If every individual begins to police their own actions then crime would drastically reduced. The Quran also places stipulation on charity and being just. If the Quranic model was implemented, human beings would no longer have homelessness or poverty.

 

And spend [in the way of Allah] from what We have provided you before death approaches one of you and he says, “My Lord, if only You would delay me for a brief term so I would give charity and be of the righteous.^[10]“

 

The Quran is a healing book. It is a miracle within itself. It’s words soothes hearts and eases minds. It contains information on how to free the soul from corruption and how to make man into a complete evolved human. The amount of scientific information is astonishing and refreshing because it embraces science and confirms its findings. When humans beings turn to the Creator and his message to mankind then we will achieve peace.

2.Surah Al-Baqarah (Verse 32)
قَالُوا سُبْحَانَكَ لَا عِلْمَ لَنَا إِلَّا مَا عَلَّمْتَنَاۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ الْعَلِيمُ الْحَكِيمُ

They said, “Exalted are You; we have no knowledge except what You have taught us. Indeed, it is You who is the Knowing, the Wise.”

2.Surah Al-Baqarah (Verse 84)
وَإِذْ أَخَذْنَا مِيثَاقَكُمْ لَا تَسْفِكُونَ دِمَاءَكُمْ وَلَا تُخْرِجُونَ أَنفُسَكُم مِّن دِيَارِكُمْ ثُمَّ أَقْرَرْتُمْ وَأَنتُمْ تَشْهَدُونَ

And [recall] when We took your covenant, [saying], “Do not shed your [i.e., each other's] blood or evict one another from your homes.” Then you acknowledged [this] while you were witnessing.

2.Surah Al-Baqarah (Verse 120)
وَلَن تَرْضَىٰ عَنكَ الْيَهُودُ وَلَا النَّصَارَىٰ حَتَّىٰ تَتَّبِعَ مِلَّتَهُمْۗ قُلْ إِنَّ هُدَى اللَّهِ هُوَ الْهُدَىٰۗ وَلَئِنِ اتَّبَعْتَ أَهْوَاءَهُم بَعْدَ الَّذِي جَاءَكَ مِنَ الْعِلْمِۙ مَا لَكَ مِنَ اللَّهِ مِن وَلِيٍّ وَلَا نَصِيرٍ

And never will the Jews and the Christians approve of you until you follow their religion. Say, “Indeed, the guidance of Allah is the [only] guidance.” If you were to follow their desires after what has come to you of knowledge, you would have against Allah no protector or helper.

2.Surah Al-Baqarah (Verse 145)
وَلَئِنْ أَتَيْتَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ بِكُلِّ آيَةٍ مَّا تَبِعُوا قِبْلَتَكَۚ وَمَا أَنتَ بِتَابِعٍ قِبْلَتَهُمْۚ وَمَا بَعْضُهُم بِتَابِعٍ قِبْلَةَ بَعْضٍۚ وَلَئِنِ اتَّبَعْتَ أَهْوَاءَهُم مِّن بَعْدِ مَا جَاءَكَ مِنَ الْعِلْمِۙ إِنَّكَ إِذًا لَّمِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ

And if you brought to those who were given the Scripture every sign, they would not follow your qiblah. Nor will you be a follower of their qiblah. Nor would they be followers of one another’s qiblah. So if you were to follow their desires after what has come to you of knowledge, indeed, you would then be among the wrongdoers.

2.Surah Al-Baqarah (Verse 193)
وَقَاتِلُوهُمْ حَتَّىٰ لَا تَكُونَ فِتْنَةٌ وَيَكُونَ الدِّينُ لِلَّهِۖ فَإِنِ انتَهَوْا فَلَا عُدْوَانَ إِلَّا عَلَى الظَّالِمِينَ

Fight them until there is no [more] fitnah and [until] religion [i.e., worship] is [acknowledged to be] for Allah. But if they cease, then there is to be no aggression [i.e., assault] except against the oppressors.

2.Surah Al-Baqarah (Verse 247)
وَقَالَ لَهُمْ نَبِيُّهُمْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ بَعَثَ لَكُمْ طَالُوتَ مَلِكًاۚ قَالُوا أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ عَلَيْنَا وَنَحْنُ أَحَقُّ بِالْمُلْكِ مِنْهُ وَلَمْ يُؤْتَ سَعَةً مِّنَ الْمَالِۚ قَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ اصْطَفَاهُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَزَادَهُ بَسْطَةً فِي الْعِلْمِ وَالْجِسْمِۖ وَاللَّهُ يُؤْتِي مُلْكَهُ مَن يَشَاءُۚ وَاللَّهُ وَاسِعٌ عَلِيمٌ

And their prophet said to them, “Indeed, Allah has sent to you Saul as a king.”They said, “How can he have kingship over us while we are more worthy of kingship than him and he has not been given any measure of wealth?” He said,Indeed, Allah has chosen him over you and has increased him abundantly in knowledge and stature. And Allah gives His sovereignty to whom He wills.And Allah is all-Encompassing [in favor] and Knowing.

2.Surah Al-Baqarah (Verse 255)
اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُۚ لَا تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَلَا نَوْمٌۚ لَّهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِۗ مَن ذَا الَّذِي يَشْفَعُ عِندَهُ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِۚ يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْۖ وَلَا يُحِيطُونَ بِشَيْءٍ مِّنْ عِلْمِهِ إِلَّا بِمَا شَاءَۚ وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّهُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَۖ وَلَا يَئُودُهُ حِفْظُهُمَاۚ وَهُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيمُ

Allah – there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High,the Most Great.

3.Surah ‘Āli `Imrān (Verse 7)
هُوَ الَّذِي أَنزَلَ عَلَيْكَ الْكِتَابَ مِنْهُ آيَاتٌ مُّحْكَمَاتٌ هُنَّ أُمُّ الْكِتَابِ وَأُخَرُ مُتَشَابِهَاتٌۖ فَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ زَيْغٌ فَيَتَّبِعُونَ مَا تَشَابَهَ مِنْهُ ابْتِغَاءَ الْفِتْنَةِ وَابْتِغَاءَ تَأْوِيلِهِۗ وَمَا يَعْلَمُ تَأْوِيلَهُ إِلَّا اللَّهُۗ وَالرَّاسِخُونَ فِي الْعِلْمِ يَقُولُونَ آمَنَّا بِهِ كُلٌّ مِّنْ عِندِ رَبِّنَاۗ وَمَا يَذَّكَّرُ إِلَّا أُولُو الْأَلْبَابِ

It is He who has sent down to you,the Book; in it are verses [that are] precise – they are the foundation of the Book – and others unspecific. As for those in whose hearts is deviation [from truth], they will follow that of it which is unspecific, seeking discord and seeking an interpretation [suitable to them]. And no one knows its [true] interpretation except Allah. But those firm in knowledge say, “We believe in it. All [of it] is from our Lord.” And no one will be reminded except those of understanding,

3.Surah ‘Āli `Imrān (Verse 19)
إِنَّ الدِّينَ عِندَ اللَّهِ الْإِسْلَامُۗ وَمَا اخْتَلَفَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ إِلَّا مِن بَعْدِ مَا جَاءَهُمُ الْعِلْمُ بَغْيًا بَيْنَهُمْۗ وَمَن يَكْفُرْ بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ سَرِيعُ الْحِسَابِ

Indeed, the religion in the sight of Allah is Islam. And those who were given the Scripture did not differ except after knowledge had come to them – out of jealous animosity between themselves. And whoever disbelieves in the verses of Allah,then indeed, Allah is swift in [taking] account.

3.Surah ‘Āli `Imrān (Verse 23)
أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا نَصِيبًا مِّنَ الْكِتَابِ يُدْعَوْنَ إِلَىٰ كِتَابِ اللَّهِ لِيَحْكُمَ بَيْنَهُمْ ثُمَّ يَتَوَلَّىٰ فَرِيقٌ مِّنْهُمْ وَهُم مُّعْرِضُونَ

Do you not consider, those who were given a portion of the Scripture? They are invited to the Scripture of Allah that it should arbitrate between them; then a party of them turns away, and they are refusing.

3.Surah ‘Āli `Imrān (Verse 61)
فَمَنْ حَاجَّكَ فِيهِ مِن بَعْدِ مَا جَاءَكَ مِنَ الْعِلْمِ فَقُلْ تَعَالَوْا نَدْعُ أَبْنَاءَنَا وَأَبْنَاءَكُمْ وَنِسَاءَنَا وَنِسَاءَكُمْ وَأَنفُسَنَا وَأَنفُسَكُمْ ثُمَّ نَبْتَهِلْ فَنَجْعَل لَّعْنَتَ اللَّهِ عَلَى الْكَاذِبِينَ

Then whoever argues with you about it after [this] knowledge has come to you – say, “Come, let us call our sons and your sons, our women and your women,ourselves and yourselves, then supplicate earnestly [together] and invoke the curse of Allah upon the liars [among us].”

3.Surah ‘Āli `Imrān (Verse 66)
هَا أَنتُمْ هَٰؤُلَاءِ حَاجَجْتُمْ فِيمَا لَكُم بِهِ عِلْمٌ فَلِمَ تُحَاجُّونَ فِيمَا لَيْسَ لَكُم بِهِ عِلْمٌۚ وَاللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ وَأَنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ

Here you are – those who have argued about that of which you have [some] knowledge, but why do you argue about that of which you have no knowledge?And Allah knows, while you know not.

3.Surah ‘Āli `Imrān (Verse 73)
وَلَا تُؤْمِنُوا إِلَّا لِمَن تَبِعَ دِينَكُمْ قُلْ إِنَّ الْهُدَىٰ هُدَى اللَّهِ أَن يُؤْتَىٰ أَحَدٌ مِّثْلَ مَا أُوتِيتُمْ أَوْ يُحَاجُّوكُمْ عِندَ رَبِّكُمْۗ قُلْ إِنَّ الْفَضْلَ بِيَدِ اللَّهِ يُؤْتِيهِ مَن يَشَاءُۗ وَاللَّهُ وَاسِعٌ عَلِيمٌ

And do not trust except those who follow your religion.” Say, “Indeed, the [true] guidance is the guidance of Allah. [Do you fear] lest someone be given [knowledge] like you were given or that they would [thereby] argue with you before your Lord?” Say, “Indeed, [all] bounty is in the hand of Allah – He grants it to whom He wills. And Allah is all-Encompassing and Wise.”

3.Surah ‘Āli `Imrān (Verse 81)
وَإِذْ أَخَذَ اللَّهُ مِيثَاقَ النَّبِيِّينَ لَمَا آتَيْتُكُم مِّن كِتَابٍ وَحِكْمَةٍ ثُمَّ جَاءَكُمْ رَسُولٌ مُّصَدِّقٌ لِّمَا مَعَكُمْ لَتُؤْمِنُنَّ بِهِ وَلَتَنصُرُنَّهُۚ قَالَ أَأَقْرَرْتُمْ وَأَخَذْتُمْ عَلَىٰ ذَٰلِكُمْ إِصْرِيۖ قَالُوا أَقْرَرْنَاۚ قَالَ فَاشْهَدُوا وَأَنَا مَعَكُم مِّنَ الشَّاهِدِينَ

And [recall, O People of the Scripture], when Allah took the covenant of the prophets, [saying], “Whatever I give you of the Scripture and wisdom and then there comes to you a messenger confirming what is with you, you [must] believe in him and support him.” [Allah] said, “Have you acknowledged and taken upon that My commitment?” They said, “We have acknowledged it.” He said,Then bear witness, and I am with you among the witnesses.

4.Surah An-Nisā’ (Verse 108)
يَسْتَخْفُونَ مِنَ النَّاسِ وَلَا يَسْتَخْفُونَ مِنَ اللَّهِ وَهُوَ مَعَهُمْ إِذْ يُبَيِّتُونَ مَا لَا يَرْضَىٰ مِنَ الْقَوْلِۚ وَكَانَ اللَّهُ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ مُحِيطًا

They conceal [their evil intentions and deeds] from the people, but they cannot conceal [them] from Allah, and He is with them [in His knowledge] when they spend the night in such as He does not accept of speech. And ever is Allah, of what they do, encompassing.

4.Surah An-Nisā’ (Verse 135)
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا كُونُوا قَوَّامِينَ بِالْقِسْطِ شُهَدَاءَ لِلَّهِ وَلَوْ عَلَىٰ أَنفُسِكُمْ أَوِ الْوَالِدَيْنِ وَالْأَقْرَبِينَۚ إِن يَكُنْ غَنِيًّا أَوْ فَقِيرًا فَاللَّهُ أَوْلَىٰ بِهِمَاۖ فَلَا تَتَّبِعُوا الْهَوَىٰ أَن تَعْدِلُواۚ وَإِن تَلْوُوا أَوْ تُعْرِضُوا فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرًا

O you who have believed, be persistently standing firm in justice, witnesses for Allah, even if it be against yourselves or parents and relatives. Whether one is rich or poor, Allah is more worthy of both. *197 So follow not [personal] inclination,lest you not be just. And if you distort [your testimony] or refuse [to give it],then indeed Allah is ever, of what you do, Aware.

4.Surah An-Nisā’ (Verse 157)
وَقَوْلِهِمْ إِنَّا قَتَلْنَا الْمَسِيحَ عِيسَى ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَمَا قَتَلُوهُ وَمَا صَلَبُوهُ وَلَٰكِن شُبِّهَ لَهُمْۚ وَإِنَّ الَّذِينَ اخْتَلَفُوا فِيهِ لَفِي شَكٍّ مِّنْهُۚ مَا لَهُم بِهِ مِنْ عِلْمٍ إِلَّا اتِّبَاعَ الظَّنِّۚ وَمَا قَتَلُوهُ يَقِينًا

And [for] their saying, “Indeed, we have killed the Messiah, Jesus the son of Mary, the messenger of Allah.” And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him; but [another] was made to resemble him to them. And indeed, those who differ over it are in doubt about it. They have no knowledge of it except the following of assumption. And they did not kill him, for certain.

4.Surah An-Nisā’ (Verse 162)
لَّٰكِنِ الرَّاسِخُونَ فِي الْعِلْمِ مِنْهُمْ وَالْمُؤْمِنُونَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِمَا أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكَ وَمَا أُنزِلَ مِن قَبْلِكَۚ وَالْمُقِيمِينَ الصَّلَاةَۚ وَالْمُؤْتُونَ الزَّكَاةَ وَالْمُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ أُولَٰئِكَ سَنُؤْتِيهِمْ أَجْرًا عَظِيمًا

But those firm in knowledge among them and the believers believe in what has been revealed to you,, and what was revealed before you. And the establishers of salaah [especially] and the givers of zakah and the believers in Allah and the Last Day – those We will give a great reward.

4.Surah An-Nisā’ (Verse 166)
لَّٰكِنِ اللَّهُ يَشْهَدُ بِمَا أَنزَلَ إِلَيْكَۖ أَنزَلَهُ بِعِلْمِهِۖ وَالْمَلَائِكَةُ يَشْهَدُونَۚ وَكَفَىٰ بِاللَّهِ شَهِيدًا

But Allah bears witness to that which He has revealed to you. He has sent it down with His knowledge, and the angels bear witness [as well]. And sufficient is Allah as Witness.

5.Surah Al-Mā’idah (Verse 109)
يَوْمَ يَجْمَعُ اللَّهُ الرُّسُلَ فَيَقُولُ مَاذَا أُجِبْتُمْۖ قَالُوا لَا عِلْمَ لَنَاۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ عَلَّامُ الْغُيُوبِ

[Be warned of] the Day when Allah will assemble the messengers and say,What was the response you received? They will say, “We have no knowledge.Indeed, it is You who is Knower of the unseen” -

6.Surah Al-’An`ām (Verse 73)
وَهُوَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ بِالْحَقِّۖ وَيَوْمَ يَقُولُ كُن فَيَكُونُۚ قَوْلُهُ الْحَقُّۚ وَلَهُ الْمُلْكُ يَوْمَ يُنفَخُ فِي الصُّورِۚ عَالِمُ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِۚ وَهُوَ الْحَكِيمُ الْخَبِيرُ

And it is He who created the heavens and earth in truth. And the day He says, “Be,” and it is, His word is the truth. And His is the dominion [on] the Day the Horn is blown. [He is] Knower of the unseen and the witnessed; and He is the Wise, the Aware.

6.Surah Al-’An`ām (Verse 80)
وَحَاجَّهُ قَوْمُهُۚ قَالَ أَتُحَاجُّونِّي فِي اللَّهِ وَقَدْ هَدَانِۚ وَلَا أَخَافُ مَا تُشْرِكُونَ بِهِ إِلَّا أَن يَشَاءَ رَبِّي شَيْئًاۗ وَسِعَ رَبِّي كُلَّ شَيْءٍ عِلْمًاۗ أَفَلَا تَتَذَكَّرُونَ

And his people argued with him. He said, “Do you argue with me concerning Allah while He has guided me? And I fear not what you associate with Him [and will not be harmed] unless my Lord should will something. My Lord encompasses all things in knowledge; then will you not remember?

7.Surah Al-’A`rāf (Verse 52)
وَلَقَدْ جِئْنَاهُم بِكِتَابٍ فَصَّلْنَاهُ عَلَىٰ عِلْمٍ هُدًى وَرَحْمَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ

And We had certainly brought them a Book which We detailed by knowledge – as guidance and mercy to a people who believe.

6.Surah Al-’An`ām (Verse 100)
وَجَعَلُوا لِلَّهِ شُرَكَاءَ الْجِنَّ وَخَلَقَهُمْۖ وَخَرَقُوا لَهُ بَنِينَ وَبَنَاتٍ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍۚ سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ

But they have attributed to Allah partners – the jinn, while He has created them – and have fabricated for Him sons and daughters without knowledge. Exalted is He and high above what they describe.

7.Surah Al-’A`rāf (Verse 89)
قَدِ افْتَرَيْنَا عَلَى اللَّهِ كَذِبًا إِنْ عُدْنَا فِي مِلَّتِكُم بَعْدَ إِذْ نَجَّانَا اللَّهُ مِنْهَاۚ وَمَا يَكُونُ لَنَا أَن نَّعُودَ فِيهَا إِلَّا أَن يَشَاءَ اللَّهُ رَبُّنَاۚ وَسِعَ رَبُّنَا كُلَّ شَيْءٍ عِلْمًاۚ عَلَى اللَّهِ تَوَكَّلْنَاۚ رَبَّنَا افْتَحْ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَ قَوْمِنَا بِالْحَقِّ وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ الْفَاتِحِينَ

We would have invented against Allah a lie if we returned to your religion after Allah had saved us from it. And it is not for us to return to it except that Allah,our Lord, should will. Our Lord has encompassed all things in knowledge. Upon Allah we have relied. Our Lord, decide between us and our people in truth, and You are the best of those who give decision.”

7.Surah Al-’A`rāf (Verse 175)
وَاتْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ نَبَأَ الَّذِي آتَيْنَاهُ آيَاتِنَا فَانسَلَخَ مِنْهَا فَأَتْبَعَهُ الشَّيْطَانُ فَكَانَ مِنَ الْغَاوِينَ

And recite to them, [O Muhammad], the news of him to whom We gave [knowledge of] Our signs, but he detached himself from them; so Satan pursued him, and he became of the deviators.

7.Surah Al-’A`rāf (Verse 176)
وَلَوْ شِئْنَا لَرَفَعْنَاهُ بِهَا وَلَٰكِنَّهُ أَخْلَدَ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ وَاتَّبَعَ هَوَاهُۚ فَمَثَلُهُ كَمَثَلِ الْكَلْبِ إِن تَحْمِلْ عَلَيْهِ يَلْهَثْ أَوْ تَتْرُكْهُ يَلْهَثۚ ذَّٰلِكَ مَثَلُ الْقَوْمِ الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَاۚ فَاقْصُصِ الْقَصَصَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ

And if We had willed, We could have elevated him thereby, but he adhered [instead] to the earth and followed his own desire. So his example is like that of the dog: if you chase him, he pants, or if you leave him, he [still] pants. That is the example of the people who denied Our signs. So relate the stories that perhaps they will give thought.

Man of reason

2.Surah Al-Baqarah (Verse 44)
أَتَأْمُرُونَ النَّاسَ بِالْبِرِّ وَتَنسَوْنَ أَنفُسَكُمْ وَأَنتُمْ تَتْلُونَ الْكِتَابَۚ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ

Do you order righteousness of the people and forget yourselves while you recite the Scripture? Then will you not reason?

2.Surah Al-Baqarah (Verse 73)
فَقُلْنَا اضْرِبُوهُ بِبَعْضِهَاۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يُحْيِي اللَّهُ الْمَوْتَىٰ وَيُرِيكُمْ آيَاتِهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ

So We said, “Strike him [i.e., the slain man] with part of it.Thus does Allah bring the dead to life, and He shows you His signs that you might reason.

2.Surah Al-Baqarah (Verse 76)
وَإِذَا لَقُوا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا قَالُوا آمَنَّا وَإِذَا خَلَا بَعْضُهُمْ إِلَىٰ بَعْضٍ قَالُوا أَتُحَدِّثُونَهُم بِمَا فَتَحَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْكُمْ لِيُحَاجُّوكُم بِهِ عِندَ رَبِّكُمْۚ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ

And when they meet those who believe, they say, “We have believed”; but when they are alone with one another, they say, “Do you talk to them about what Allah has revealed to you so they can argue with you about it before your Lord?” Then will you not reason?

2.Surah Al-Baqarah (Verse 164)
إِنَّ فِي خَلْقِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَاخْتِلَافِ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ وَالْفُلْكِ الَّتِي تَجْرِي فِي الْبَحْرِ بِمَا يَنفَعُ النَّاسَ وَمَا أَنزَلَ اللَّهُ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مِن مَّاءٍ فَأَحْيَا بِهِ الْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا وَبَثَّ فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ دَابَّةٍ وَتَصْرِيفِ الرِّيَاحِ وَالسَّحَابِ الْمُسَخَّرِ بَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ لَآيَاتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَعْقِلُونَ

Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the alternation of the night and the day, and the [great] ships which sail through the sea with that which benefits people, and what Allah has sent down from the heavens of rain,giving life thereby to the earth after its lifelessness and dispersing therein every [kind of] moving creature, and [His] directing of the winds and the clouds controlled between the heaven and earth are signs for a people who use reason.

2.Surah Al-Baqarah (Verse 242)
كَذَٰلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ اللَّهُ لَكُمْ آيَاتِهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ

Thus does Allah make clear to you His verses [i.e., laws] that you might use reason.

3.Surah ‘Āli `Imrān (Verse 65)
يَا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ لِمَ تُحَاجُّونَ فِي إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمَا أُنزِلَتِ التَّوْرَاةُ وَالْإِنجِيلُ إِلَّا مِن بَعْدِهِۚ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ

O People of the Scripture, why do you argue about Abraham while the Torah and the Gospel were not revealed until after him? Then will you not reason?

3.Surah ‘Āli `Imrān (Verse 118)
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَتَّخِذُوا بِطَانَةً مِّن دُونِكُمْ لَا يَأْلُونَكُمْ خَبَالًا وَدُّوا مَا عَنِتُّمْ قَدْ بَدَتِ الْبَغْضَاءُ مِنْ أَفْوَاهِهِمْ وَمَا تُخْفِي صُدُورُهُمْ أَكْبَرُۚ قَدْ بَيَّنَّا لَكُمُ الْآيَاتِۖ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ

O you who have believed, do not take as intimates those other than yourselves [i.e., believers], for they will not spare you [any] ruin. They wish you would have hardship. Hatred has already appeared from their mouths, and what their breasts conceal is greater. We have certainly made clear to you the signs, if you will use reason.

4.Surah An-Nisā’ (Verse 92)
وَمَا كَانَ لِمُؤْمِنٍ أَن يَقْتُلَ مُؤْمِنًا إِلَّا خَطَأًۚ وَمَن قَتَلَ مُؤْمِنًا خَطَأً فَتَحْرِيرُ رَقَبَةٍ مُّؤْمِنَةٍ وَدِيَةٌ مُّسَلَّمَةٌ إِلَىٰ أَهْلِهِ إِلَّا أَن يَصَّدَّقُواۚ فَإِن كَانَ مِن قَوْمٍ عَدُوٍّ لَّكُمْ وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ فَتَحْرِيرُ رَقَبَةٍ مُّؤْمِنَةٍۖ وَإِن كَانَ مِن قَوْمٍ بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَهُم مِّيثَاقٌ فَدِيَةٌ مُّسَلَّمَةٌ إِلَىٰ أَهْلِهِ وَتَحْرِيرُ رَقَبَةٍ مُّؤْمِنَةٍۖ فَمَن لَّمْ يَجِدْ فَصِيَامُ شَهْرَيْنِ مُتَتَابِعَيْنِ تَوْبَةً مِّنَ اللَّهِۗ وَكَانَ اللَّهُ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمًا

And never is it for a believer to kill a believer except by mistake. And whoever kills a believer by mistake – then the freeing of a believing slave and a compensation payment [diyah] presented to his [i.e., the deceased's] family [is required], unless they give [up their right as] charity. But if he [i.e., the deceased] was from a people at war with you and he was a believer – then [only] the freeing of a believing slave; and if he was from a people with whom you have a treaty – then a compensation payment presented to his family and the freeing of a believing slave. And whoever does not find [one or cannot afford to buy one] – then [instead], a fast for two months consecutively, [seeking] acceptance of repentance from Allah. And Allah is ever Knowing and Wise.

5.Surah Al-Mā’idah (Verse 33)
إِنَّمَا جَزَاءُ الَّذِينَ يُحَارِبُونَ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ وَيَسْعَوْنَ فِي الْأَرْضِ فَسَادًا أَن يُقَتَّلُوا أَوْ يُصَلَّبُوا أَوْ تُقَطَّعَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَأَرْجُلُهُم مِّنْ خِلَافٍ أَوْ يُنفَوْا مِنَ الْأَرْضِۚ ذَٰلِكَ لَهُمْ خِزْيٌ فِي الدُّنْيَاۖ وَلَهُمْ فِي الْآخِرَةِ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ

Indeed, the penalty for those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and strive upon earth [to cause] corruption is none but that they be killed or crucified or that their hands and feet be cut off from opposite sides or that they be exiled from the land. That is for them a disgrace in this world; and for them in the Hereafter is a great punishment,

5.Surah Al-Mā’idah (Verse 58)
وَإِذَا نَادَيْتُمْ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ اتَّخَذُوهَا هُزُوًا وَلَعِبًاۚ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَوْمٌ لَّا يَعْقِلُونَ

And when you call to prayer, they take it in ridicule and amusement. That is because they are a people who do not use reason.

5.Surah Al-Mā’idah (Verse 103)
مَا جَعَلَ اللَّهُ مِن بَحِيرَةٍ وَلَا سَائِبَةٍ وَلَا وَصِيلَةٍ وَلَا حَامٍۙ وَلَٰكِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا يَفْتَرُونَ عَلَى اللَّهِ الْكَذِبَۖ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْقِلُونَ

Allah has not appointed [such innovations as] bahirah or sa’ibah or wasilah or ham. But those who disbelieve invent falsehood about Allah, and most of them do not reason.

6.Surah Al-’An`ām (Verse 32)
وَمَا الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا إِلَّا لَعِبٌ وَلَهْوٌۖ وَلَلدَّارُ الْآخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ لِّلَّذِينَ يَتَّقُونَۗ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ

And the worldly life is not but amusement and diversion; but the home of the Hereafter is best for those who fear Allah, so will you not reason?

6.Surah Al-’An`ām (Verse 151)
قُلْ تَعَالَوْا أَتْلُ مَا حَرَّمَ رَبُّكُمْ عَلَيْكُمْۖ أَلَّا تُشْرِكُوا بِهِ شَيْئًاۖ وَبِالْوَالِدَيْنِ إِحْسَانًاۖ وَلَا تَقْتُلُوا أَوْلَادَكُم مِّنْ إِمْلَاقٍۖ نَّحْنُ نَرْزُقُكُمْ وَإِيَّاهُمْۖ وَلَا تَقْرَبُوا الْفَوَاحِشَ مَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَا وَمَا بَطَنَۖ وَلَا تَقْتُلُوا النَّفْسَ الَّتِي حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ إِلَّا بِالْحَقِّۚ ذَٰلِكُمْ وَصَّاكُم بِهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ

Say, “Come, I will recite what your Lord has prohibited to you. [He commands] that you not associate anything with Him, and to parents, good treatment, and do not kill your children out of poverty; We will provide for you and them. And do not approach immoralities – what is apparent of them and what is concealed.And do not kill the soul which Allah has forbidden [to be killed] except by [legal] right. This has He instructed you that you may use reason.”

7.Surah Al-’A`rāf (Verse 146)
سَأَصْرِفُ عَنْ آيَاتِيَ الَّذِينَ يَتَكَبَّرُونَ فِي الْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ الْحَقِّ وَإِن يَرَوْا كُلَّ آيَةٍ لَّا يُؤْمِنُوا بِهَا وَإِن يَرَوْا سَبِيلَ الرُّشْدِ لَا يَتَّخِذُوهُ سَبِيلًا وَإِن يَرَوْا سَبِيلَ الْغَيِّ يَتَّخِذُوهُ سَبِيلًاۚ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا وَكَانُوا عَنْهَا غَافِلِينَ

I will turn away from My signs those who are arrogant upon the earth without right; and if they should see every sign, they will not believe in it. And if they see the way of consciousness, they will not adopt it as a way; but if they see the way of error, they will adopt it as a way. That is because they have denied Our signs and they were heedless of them.

7.Surah Al-’A`rāf (Verse 169)
فَخَلَفَ مِن بَعْدِهِمْ خَلْفٌ وَرِثُوا الْكِتَابَ يَأْخُذُونَ عَرَضَ هَٰذَا الْأَدْنَىٰ وَيَقُولُونَ سَيُغْفَرُ لَنَا وَإِن يَأْتِهِمْ عَرَضٌ مِّثْلُهُ يَأْخُذُوهُۚ أَلَمْ يُؤْخَذْ عَلَيْهِم مِّيثَاقُ الْكِتَابِ أَن لَّا يَقُولُوا عَلَى اللَّهِ إِلَّا الْحَقَّ وَدَرَسُوا مَا فِيهِۗ وَالدَّارُ الْآخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ لِّلَّذِينَ يَتَّقُونَۗ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ

And there followed them successors who inherited the Scripture [while] taking the commodities of this lower life and saying, “It will be forgiven for us.”And if an offer like it comes to them, they will [again] take it. Was not the covenant of the Scripture [i.e., the Torah] taken from them that they would not say about Allah except the truth, and they studied what was in it? And the home of the Hereafter is better for those who fear Allah, so will you not use reason?

7.Surah Al-’A`rāf (Verse 179)
وَلَقَدْ ذَرَأْنَا لِجَهَنَّمَ كَثِيرًا مِّنَ الْجِنِّ وَالْإِنسِۖ لَهُمْ قُلُوبٌ لَّا يَفْقَهُونَ بِهَا وَلَهُمْ أَعْيُنٌ لَّا يُبْصِرُونَ بِهَا وَلَهُمْ آذَانٌ لَّا يَسْمَعُونَ بِهَاۚ أُولَٰئِكَ كَالْأَنْعَامِ بَلْ هُمْ أَضَلُّۚ أُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْغَافِلُونَ

And We have certainly created for Hell many of the jinn and mankind. They have hearts with which they do not understand, they have eyes with which they do not see, and they have ears with which they do not hear. Those are like livestock; rather, they are more astray. *391 It is they who are the heedless.

8.Surah Al-’Anfāl (Verse 22)
إِنَّ شَرَّ الدَّوَابِّ عِندَ اللَّهِ الصُّمُّ الْبُكْمُ الَّذِينَ لَا يَعْقِلُونَ

Indeed, the worst of living creatures in the sight of Allah are the deaf and dumb who do not use reason.

10.Surah Yūnus (Verse 16)
قُل لَّوْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ مَا تَلَوْتُهُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَلَا أَدْرَاكُم بِهِۖ فَقَدْ لَبِثْتُ فِيكُمْ عُمُرًا مِّن قَبْلِهِۚ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ

Say, “If Allah had willed, I would not have recited it to you, nor would He have made it known to you, for I had remained among you a lifetime before it. Then will you not reason?”

10.Surah Yūnus (Verse 42)
وَمِنْهُم مَّن يَسْتَمِعُونَ إِلَيْكَۚ أَفَأَنتَ تُسْمِعُ الصُّمَّ وَلَوْ كَانُوا لَا يَعْقِلُونَ

And among them are those who listen to you. But can you cause the deaf to hear [i.e., benefit from this hearing], although they will not use reason?

10.Surah Yūnus (Verse 100)
وَمَا كَانَ لِنَفْسٍ أَن تُؤْمِنَ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ اللَّهِۚ وَيَجْعَلُ الرِّجْسَ عَلَى الَّذِينَ لَا يَعْقِلُونَ

And it is not for a soul to believe except by permission of Allah, and He will place defilement upon those who will not use reason.

10.Surah Yūnus (Verse 16)
قُل لَّوْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ مَا تَلَوْتُهُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَلَا أَدْرَاكُم بِهِۖ فَقَدْ لَبِثْتُ فِيكُمْ عُمُرًا مِّن قَبْلِهِۚ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ

Say, “If Allah had willed, I would not have recited it to you, nor would He have made it known to you, for I had remained among you a lifetime before it. Then will you not reason?”

9.Surah At-Tawbah (Verse 74)
يَحْلِفُونَ بِاللَّهِ مَا قَالُوا وَلَقَدْ قَالُوا كَلِمَةَ الْكُفْرِ وَكَفَرُوا بَعْدَ إِسْلَامِهِمْ وَهَمُّوا بِمَا لَمْ يَنَالُواۚ وَمَا نَقَمُوا إِلَّا أَنْ أَغْنَاهُمُ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ مِن فَضْلِهِۚ فَإِن يَتُوبُوا يَكُ خَيْرًا لَّهُمْۖ وَإِن يَتَوَلَّوْا يُعَذِّبْهُمُ اللَّهُ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِۚ وَمَا لَهُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ مِن وَلِيٍّ وَلَا نَصِيرٍ

They swear by Allah that they did not say [anything against the Prophet (P.B.U.H)] while they had said the word of disbelief and disbelieved after their [pretense of] Islam and planned that which they were not to attain. And they were not resentful except [for the fact] that Allah and His Messenger had enriched them of His bounty. So if they repent, it is better for them; but if they turn away, Allah will punish them with a painful punishment in this world and the Hereafter. And there will not be for them on earth any protector or helper

.10.Surah Yūnus (Verse 42)
وَمِنْهُم مَّن يَسْتَمِعُونَ إِلَيْكَۚ أَفَأَنتَ تُسْمِعُ الصُّمَّ وَلَوْ كَانُوا لَا يَعْقِلُونَ

And among them are those who listen to you. But can you cause the deaf to hear although they will not use reason?

10.Surah Yūnus (Verse 100)
وَمَا كَانَ لِنَفْسٍ أَن تُؤْمِنَ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ اللَّهِۚ وَيَجْعَلُ الرِّجْسَ عَلَى الَّذِينَ لَا يَعْقِلُونَ

And it is not for a soul to believe except by permission of Allah, and He will place defilement upon those who will not use reason.

11.Surah Hūd (Verse 51)
يَا قَوْمِ لَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ أَجْرًاۖ إِنْ أَجْرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَى الَّذِي فَطَرَنِيۚ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ

my people, I do not ask you for it any reward. My reward is only from the one who created me. Then will you not reason?

11.Surah Hūd (Verse 78)
وَجَاءَهُ قَوْمُهُ يُهْرَعُونَ إِلَيْهِ وَمِن قَبْلُ كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ السَّيِّئَاتِۚ قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ هَٰؤُلَاءِ بَنَاتِي هُنَّ أَطْهَرُ لَكُمْۖ فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَلَا تُخْزُونِ فِي ضَيْفِيۖ أَلَيْسَ مِنكُمْ رَجُلٌ رَّشِيدٌ

And his people came hastening to him, and before [this] they had been doing evil deeds. He said, “O my people, these are my daughters; they are purer for you. So fear Allah and do not disgrace me concerning my guests. Is there not among you a man of reason?”

12.Surah Yūsuf (Verse 109)
وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ إِلَّا رِجَالًا نُّوحِي إِلَيْهِم مِّنْ أَهْلِ الْقُرَىٰۗ أَفَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَيَنظُرُوا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْۗ وَلَدَارُ الْآخِرَةِ خَيْرٌ لِّلَّذِينَ اتَّقَوْاۗ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ

And We sent not before you (as messengers) except men to whom We revealed from among the people of cities. So have they not traveled through the earth and observed how was the end of those before them? And the home of the Hereafter is best for those who fear Allah; then will you not reason?

16.Surah An-Naĥl (Verse 12)
وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمُ اللَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ وَالشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَۖ وَالنُّجُومُ مُسَخَّرَاتٌ بِأَمْرِهِۗ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَعْقِلُونَ

And He has subjected for you the night and day and the sun and moon, and the stars are subjected by His command. Indeed in that are signs for a people who reason.

16.Surah An-Naĥl (Verse 67)
وَمِن ثَمَرَاتِ النَّخِيلِ وَالْأَعْنَابِ تَتَّخِذُونَ مِنْهُ سَكَرًا وَرِزْقًا حَسَنًاۗ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يَعْقِلُونَ

And from the fruits of the palm trees and grapevines you take intoxicant and good provision. Indeed in that is a sign for a people who reason.

21.Surah Al-’Anbyā’ (Verse 10)
لَقَدْ أَنزَلْنَا إِلَيْكُمْ كِتَابًا فِيهِ ذِكْرُكُمْۖ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ

We have certainly sent down to you a Book in which is your mention. Then will you not reason?

21.Surah Al-’Anbyā’ (Verse 67)
أُفٍّ لَّكُمْ وَلِمَا تَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِۖ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ

to you and to what you worship instead of Allah. Then will you not use reason?”

22.Surah Al-Ĥaj (Verse 46)
أَفَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَتَكُونَ لَهُمْ قُلُوبٌ يَعْقِلُونَ بِهَا أَوْ آذَانٌ يَسْمَعُونَ بِهَاۖ فَإِنَّهَا لَا تَعْمَى الْأَبْصَارُ وَلَٰكِن تَعْمَى الْقُلُوبُ الَّتِي فِي الصُّدُورِ

So have they not traveled through the earth and have hearts by which to reason and ears by which to hear? For indeed, it is not eyes that are blinded, but blinded are the hearts which are within the breasts.

23.Surah Al-Mu’minūn (Verse 80)
وَهُوَ الَّذِي يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ وَلَهُ اخْتِلَافُ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِۚ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ

And it is He who gives life and causes death, and His is the alternation of the night and the day. Then will you not reason?

23.Surah Al-Mu’minūn (Verse 80)
وَهُوَ الَّذِي يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ وَلَهُ اخْتِلَافُ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِۚ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ

And it is He who gives life and causes death, and His is the alternation of the night and the day. Then will you not reason?

25.Surah Al-Furqān (Verse 44)
أَمْ تَحْسَبُ أَنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ يَسْمَعُونَ أَوْ يَعْقِلُونَۚ إِنْ هُمْ إِلَّا كَالْأَنْعَامِۖ بَلْ هُمْ أَضَلُّ سَبِيلًا

Or do you think that most of them hear or reason? They are not except like livestock. Rather, they are [even] more astray in [their] way.

26.Surah Ash-Shu`arā’ (Verse 28)
قَالَ رَبُّ الْمَشْرِقِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَاۖ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ

[Moses] said, “Lord of the east and the west and that between them, if you were to reason.”

28.Surah Al-Qaşaş (Verse 60)
وَمَا أُوتِيتُم مِّن شَيْءٍ فَمَتَاعُ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَزِينَتُهَاۚ وَمَا عِندَ اللَّهِ خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَىٰۚ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ

And whatever thing you [people] have been given – it is [only for] the enjoyment of worldly life and its adornment. And what is with Allah is better and more lasting; so will you not use reason?

29.Surah Al-`Ankabūt (Verse 35)
وَلَقَد تَّرَكْنَا مِنْهَا آيَةً بَيِّنَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يَعْقِلُونَ

And We have certainly left of it a sign as clear evidence for a people who use reason.

29.Surah Al-`Ankabūt (Verse 63)
وَلَئِن سَأَلْتَهُم مَّن نَّزَّلَ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَاءً فَأَحْيَا بِهِ الْأَرْضَ مِن بَعْدِ مَوْتِهَا لَيَقُولُنَّ اللَّهُۚ قُلِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِۚ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْقِلُونَ

And if you asked them, “Who sends down rain from the sky and gives life thereby to the earth after its lifelessness?” they would surely say, “Allah.” Say,Praise to Allah; but most of them do not reason.

30.Surah Ar-Rūm (Verse 24)
وَمِنْ آيَاتِهِ يُرِيكُمُ الْبَرْقَ خَوْفًا وَطَمَعًا وَيُنَزِّلُ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَاءً فَيُحْيِي بِهِ الْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَاۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَعْقِلُونَ

And of His signs is [that] He shows you the lightning [causing] fear and aspiration, and He sends down rain from the sky by which He brings to life the earth after its lifelessness. Indeed in that are signs for a people who use reason.

30.Surah Ar-Rūm (Verse 28)
ضَرَبَ لَكُم مَّثَلًا مِّنْ أَنفُسِكُمْۖ هَل لَّكُم مِّن مَّا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُكُم مِّن شُرَكَاءَ فِي مَا رَزَقْنَاكُمْ فَأَنتُمْ فِيهِ سَوَاءٌ تَخَافُونَهُمْ كَخِيفَتِكُمْ أَنفُسَكُمْۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نُفَصِّلُ الْآيَاتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَعْقِلُونَ

He presents to you an example from yourselves. Do you have among those whom your right hands possess any partners in what We have provided for you so that you are equal therein [and] would fear them as your fear of one another [within a partnership]? Thus do We detail the verses for a people who use reason.

30.Surah Ar-Rūm (Verse 41)
ظَهَرَ الْفَسَادُ فِي الْبَرِّ وَالْبَحْرِ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ أَيْدِي النَّاسِ لِيُذِيقَهُم بَعْضَ الَّذِي عَمِلُوا لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ

Corruption has appeared throughout the land and sea by what the hands of people have earned so He [i.e., Allah] may let them taste part of [the consequence ) what they have done that perhaps they will return [to righteousness].

31.Surah Luqmān (Verse 17)
يَا بُنَيَّ أَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ وَأْمُرْ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَانْهَ عَنِ الْمُنكَرِ وَاصْبِرْ عَلَىٰ مَا أَصَابَكَۖ إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ مِنْ عَزْمِ الْأُمُورِ

O my son, establish salaat, enjoin what is right, forbid what is wrong, and be patient over what befalls you. Indeed, [all] that is of the matters [requiring] resolve.

33.Surah Al-’Aĥzāb (Verse 73)
لِّيُعَذِّبَ اللَّهُ الْمُنَافِقِينَ وَالْمُنَافِقَاتِ وَالْمُشْرِكِينَ وَالْمُشْرِكَاتِ وَيَتُوبَ اللَّهُ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِۗ وَكَانَ اللَّهُ غَفُورًا رَّحِيمًا

so that Allah may punish the hypocrite men and hypocrite women and the men and women who associate others with Him and that Allah may accept repentance from the believing men and believing women. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful.

36.Surah Yā-Sīn (Verse 62)
وَلَقَدْ أَضَلَّ مِنكُمْ جِبِلًّا كَثِيرًاۖ أَفَلَمْ تَكُونُوا تَعْقِلُونَ

And he had already led astray from among you much of creation, so did you not use reason?

37.Surah Aş-Şāffāt (Verse 138)
وَبِاللَّيْلِۗ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ

And at night. Then will you not use reason?

39.Surah Az-Zumar (Verse 43)
أَمِ اتَّخَذُوا مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ شُفَعَاءَۚ قُلْ أَوَلَوْ كَانُوا لَا يَمْلِكُونَ شَيْئًا وَلَا يَعْقِلُونَ

Or have they taken other than Allah as intercessors? Say, “Even though they do not possess [power over] anything, nor do they reason?”

40.Surah Ghāfir (Verse 67)
هُوَ الَّذِي خَلَقَكُم مِّن تُرَابٍ ثُمَّ مِن نُّطْفَةٍ ثُمَّ مِنْ عَلَقَةٍ ثُمَّ يُخْرِجُكُمْ طِفْلًا ثُمَّ لِتَبْلُغُوا أَشُدَّكُمْ ثُمَّ لِتَكُونُوا شُيُوخًاۚ وَمِنكُم مَّن يُتَوَفَّىٰ مِن قَبْلُۖ وَلِتَبْلُغُوا أَجَلًا مُّسَمًّى وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ

It is He who created you from dust, then from a sperm-drop, then from a clinging clot; then He brings you out as a child; then [He develops you] that you reach your [time of] maturity, then [further] that you become elders. And among you is he who is taken in death before [that], so that you reach a specified term; and perhaps you will use reason.

45.Surah Al-Jāthiyah (Verse 5)
وَاخْتِلَافِ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ وَمَا أَنزَلَ اللَّهُ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مِن رِّزْقٍ فَأَحْيَا بِهِ الْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا وَتَصْرِيفِ الرِّيَاحِ آيَاتٌ لِّقَوْمٍ يَعْقِلُونَ

And [in] the alternation of night and day and [in] what Allah sends down from the sky of provision and gives life thereby to the earth after its lifelessness and [in His] directing of the winds are signs for a people who reason.

49.Surah Al-Ĥujurāt (Verse 4)
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يُنَادُونَكَ مِن وَرَاءِ الْحُجُرَاتِ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْقِلُونَ

Indeed, those who call you, [O Muhammad], from behind the chambers – most of them do not use reason.

59.Surah Al-Ĥashr (Verse 14)
لَا يُقَاتِلُونَكُمْ جَمِيعًا إِلَّا فِي قُرًى مُّحَصَّنَةٍ أَوْ مِن وَرَاءِ جُدُرٍۚ بَأْسُهُم بَيْنَهُمْ شَدِيدٌۚ تَحْسَبُهُمْ جَمِيعًا وَقُلُوبُهُمْ شَتَّىٰۚ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَوْمٌ لَّا يَعْقِلُونَ

They will not fight you all except within fortified cities or from behind walls.Their violence among themselves is severe. You think they are together,but their hearts are diverse. That is because they are a people who do not reason.

67.Surah Al-Mulk (Verse 10)
وَقَالُوا لَوْ كُنَّا نَسْمَعُ أَوْ نَعْقِلُ مَا كُنَّا فِي أَصْحَابِ السَّعِيرِ

And they will say, “If only we had been listening or reasoning, we would not be among the companions of the Blaze.”

91.Surah Ash-Shams (Verse 11)
كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ بِطَغْوَاهَا

Thamud denied [their prophet] by reason of their transgression,

Hadith

4:42 On that Day those who rejected and disobeyed the messenger will
wish that the earth would swallow them; but they cannot hide
any Hadith from Allah.

4:78 Wherever you may be, death will find you, even if you are in fortified
towers. If any good befalls them, they say: “This is from Allah,” and if
any evil befalls them, they say: “This is from you!” Say: “All is from
Allah;” what is wrong with these people, they barely understand any
Hadith!

4:87 Allah, there is no Allah except He. He will gather you for the Day of
Resurrection in which there is no doubt. Who is more truthful a
Hadith than Allah?

4:140 And it has been sent down to you in the Book, that if you hear the
revelations of Allah being rejected and mocked, then do not sit with
them until they move on to a different Hadith; if not, then you
are like them. Allah will gather the hypocrites and the disbelievers
in Hell all together.

6:68 And if you encounter those who make fun of Our revelations,
then turn away from them until they move on to a different
Hadith; and if the devil makes you forget, then do not sit after
remembering with the wicked people.

7:185 Have they not looked at the dominion of the heavens and the
earth, and all that Allah has created? Perhaps their time is drawing
near; so in which Hadith after this one will they believe?

18:6 Perhaps you will torment yourself in grief over them, because
they will not believe in this Hadith at all.

20:9 And did the Hadith of Moses come to you?

31:6 And from the people, there are those who will purchase a
baseless Hadith with which to mislead from the path of Allah
without knowledge, and to make it a mockery. These will have a
humiliating retribution.

33:53 O you who believe, do not enter the homes of the prophet unless
you are invited to a meal, without you forcing such an invitation.
But if you are invited, you may enter. And when you finish
eating, you shall leave, without staying to wait for a hadith.
This used to bother the prophet, and he was shy to tell you. But
Allah does not shy away from the truth. And if you ask his wives
for something, ask them from behind a barrier. This is purer for
your hearts and their hearts. And it is not for you to harm the
messenger of Allah, nor that you should marry his wives after him.
This is indeed a gross offence with Allah.

39:23 Allah has sent down the best hadith, a Book that is similar with
two paths. The skins of those who are concerned towards their
Lord shiver from it, then their skins and their hearts soften up to
the remembrance of Allah. Such is the guidance of Allah; He guides
with it whoever He wills. And for whoever Allah misguides, then
none can guide him.

45:6 These are the revelations of Allah, We recite them to you with the
truth. So, in which Hadith after Allah and His revelations do
they believe?

45:7 Woe to every sinful FABRICATOR.

51:24 Has the Hadith of the noble guests of Abraham come to you?

52:34 Let them produce a Hadith like this, if they are truthful.

53:59 Are you surprised by this hadith?

56:81 Are you disregarding this hadith?

66:3 And when the prophet confided a hadith to some of his wives,
then one of them spread it, and Allah revealed it to him, he
recognized part of it and denied part. So when he informed her,
she said: “Who informed you of this?” He said: “I was informed
by the Knowledgeable, the Expert.”

68:44 Therefore, let Me deal with those who reject this hadith; We
will entice them from where they do not perceive.

77:50 So in what hadith, after it, will they believe?

79:15 Did the hadith of Moses come to you?

85:17 Has hadith of the soldiers come to you?

88:1 Has the hadith of that which will overwhelm come to you?

Women

33.Surah Al-’Aĥzāb (Verse 35)
إِنَّ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَالْمُسْلِمَاتِ وَالْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ وَالْقَانِتِينَ وَالْقَانِتَاتِ وَالصَّادِقِينَ وَالصَّادِقَاتِ وَالصَّابِرِينَ وَالصَّابِرَاتِ وَالْخَاشِعِينَ وَالْخَاشِعَاتِ وَالْمُتَصَدِّقِينَ وَالْمُتَصَدِّقَاتِ وَالصَّائِمِينَ وَالصَّائِمَاتِ وَالْحَافِظِينَ فُرُوجَهُمْ وَالْحَافِظَاتِ وَالذَّاكِرِينَ اللَّهَ كَثِيرًا وَالذَّاكِرَاتِ أَعَدَّ اللَّهُ لَهُم مَّغْفِرَةً وَأَجْرًا عَظِيمًا

Indeed, the Muslim men and Muslim women, the believing men and believing women, the obedient men and obedient women, the truthful men and truthful women, the patient men and patient women, the humble men and humble women,the charitable men and charitable women, the fasting men and fasting women, the men who guard their private parts and the women who do so, and the men who remember Allah often and the women who do so – for them Allah has prepared forgiveness and a great reward.

33.Surah Al-’Aĥzāb (Verse 58)
وَالَّذِينَ يُؤْذُونَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ بِغَيْرِ مَا اكْتَسَبُوا فَقَدِ احْتَمَلُوا بُهْتَانًا وَإِثْمًا مُّبِينًا

And those who harm believing men and believing women for [something] other than what they have earned have certainly borne upon themselves a slander and manifest sin.

33.Surah Al-’Aĥzāb (Verse 59)
يَا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ قُل لِّأَزْوَاجِكَ وَبَنَاتِكَ وَنِسَاءِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ يُدْنِينَ عَلَيْهِنَّ مِن جَلَابِيبِهِنَّۚ ذَٰلِكَ أَدْنَىٰ أَن يُعْرَفْنَ فَلَا يُؤْذَيْنَۗ وَكَانَ اللَّهُ غَفُورًا رَّحِيمًا

O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to bring down over themselves [part] of their outer garments.That is more suitable that they will be known and not be abused. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful.

2.Surah Al-Baqarah (Verse 221)
وَلَا تَنكِحُوا الْمُشْرِكَاتِ حَتَّىٰ يُؤْمِنَّۚ وَلَأَمَةٌ مُّؤْمِنَةٌ خَيْرٌ مِّن مُّشْرِكَةٍ وَلَوْ أَعْجَبَتْكُمْۗ وَلَا تُنكِحُوا الْمُشْرِكِينَ حَتَّىٰ يُؤْمِنُواۚ وَلَعَبْدٌ مُّؤْمِنٌ خَيْرٌ مِّن مُّشْرِكٍ وَلَوْ أَعْجَبَكُمْۗ أُولَٰئِكَ يَدْعُونَ إِلَى النَّارِۖ وَاللَّهُ يَدْعُو إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ وَالْمَغْفِرَةِ بِإِذْنِهِۖ وَيُبَيِّنُ آيَاتِهِ لِلنَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ

And do not marry polytheistic women until they believe. And a believing slave woman is better than a polytheist, even though she might please you. And do not marry polytheistic men until they believe. And a believing slave is better than a polytheist, even though he might please you.Those invite to the Fire, but Allah invites to Paradise and to forgiveness,by His permission. And He makes clear His verses to the people that perhaps they may remember.

2.Surah Al-Baqarah (Verse 228)
وَالْمُطَلَّقَاتُ يَتَرَبَّصْنَ بِأَنفُسِهِنَّ ثَلَاثَةَ قُرُوءٍۚ وَلَا يَحِلُّ لَهُنَّ أَن يَكْتُمْنَ مَا خَلَقَ اللَّهُ فِي أَرْحَامِهِنَّ إِن كُنَّ يُؤْمِنَّ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِۚ وَبُعُولَتُهُنَّ أَحَقُّ بِرَدِّهِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ إِنْ أَرَادُوا إِصْلَاحًاۚ وَلَهُنَّ مِثْلُ الَّذِي عَلَيْهِنَّ بِالْمَعْرُوفِۚ وَلِلرِّجَالِ عَلَيْهِنَّ دَرَجَةٌۗ وَاللَّهُ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٌ

Divorced women remain in waiting for three periods, and it is not lawful for them to conceal what Allah has created in their wombs if they believe in Allah and the Last Day. And their husbands have more right to take them back in this [period] if they want reconciliation. And due to them [i.e.,the wives] is similar to what is expected of them, according to what is reasonable. But the men have a degree over them And Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise.

2.Surah Al-Baqarah (Verse 231)
وَإِذَا طَلَّقْتُمُ النِّسَاءَ فَبَلَغْنَ أَجَلَهُنَّ فَأَمْسِكُوهُنَّ بِمَعْرُوفٍ أَوْ سَرِّحُوهُنَّ بِمَعْرُوفٍۚ وَلَا تُمْسِكُوهُنَّ ضِرَارًا لِّتَعْتَدُواۚ وَمَن يَفْعَلْ ذَٰلِكَ فَقَدْ ظَلَمَ نَفْسَهُۚ وَلَا تَتَّخِذُوا آيَاتِ اللَّهِ هُزُوًاۚ وَاذْكُرُوا نِعْمَتَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ وَمَا أَنزَلَ عَلَيْكُم مِّنَ الْكِتَابِ وَالْحِكْمَةِ يَعِظُكُم بِهِۚ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ اللَّهَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمٌ

And when you divorce women and they have fulfilled their term, either retain them according to acceptable terms or release them according to acceptable terms, and do not keep them, intending harm, to transgress [against them]. And whoever does that has certainly wronged himself. And do not take the verses of Allah in jest. And remember the favor of Allah upon you and what has been revealed to you of the Book [i.e., the Qur'an] and wisdom by which He instructs you. And fear Allah and know that Allah is Knowing of all things.

2.Surah Al-Baqarah (Verse 232)
وَإِذَا طَلَّقْتُمُ النِّسَاءَ فَبَلَغْنَ أَجَلَهُنَّ فَلَا تَعْضُلُوهُنَّ أَن يَنكِحْنَ أَزْوَاجَهُنَّ إِذَا تَرَاضَوْا بَيْنَهُم بِالْمَعْرُوفِۗ ذَٰلِكَ يُوعَظُ بِهِ مَن كَانَ مِنكُمْ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِۗ ذَٰلِكُمْ أَزْكَىٰ لَكُمْ وَأَطْهَرُۗ وَاللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ وَأَنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ

And when you divorce women and they have fulfilled their term, do not prevent them from remarrying their (former) husbands if they [i.e., all parties] agree among themselves on an acceptable basis. That is instructed to whoever of you believes in Allah and the Last Day. That is better for you and purer, and Allah knows and you know not.

2.Surah Al-Baqarah (Verse 235)
وَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكُمْ فِيمَا عَرَّضْتُم بِهِ مِنْ خِطْبَةِ النِّسَاءِ أَوْ أَكْنَنتُمْ فِي أَنفُسِكُمْۚ عَلِمَ اللَّهُ أَنَّكُمْ سَتَذْكُرُونَهُنَّ وَلَٰكِن لَّا تُوَاعِدُوهُنَّ سِرًّا إِلَّا أَن تَقُولُوا قَوْلًا مَّعْرُوفًاۚ وَلَا تَعْزِمُوا عُقْدَةَ النِّكَاحِ حَتَّىٰ يَبْلُغَ الْكِتَابُ أَجَلَهُۚ وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ اللَّهَ يَعْلَمُ مَا فِي أَنفُسِكُمْ فَاحْذَرُوهُۚ وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ اللَّهَ غَفُورٌ حَلِيمٌ

There is no blame upon you for that to which you [indirectly] allude concerning a proposal to women or for what you conceal within yourselves. Allah knows that you will have them in mind. But do not promise them secretly except for saying a proper saying. And do not determine to undertake a marriage contract until the decreed period reaches its end. And know that Allah knows what is within yourselves, so beware of Him. And know that Allah is Forgiving and Forbearing.

2.Surah Al-Baqarah (Verse 236)
لَّا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكُمْ إِن طَلَّقْتُمُ النِّسَاءَ مَا لَمْ تَمَسُّوهُنَّ أَوْ تَفْرِضُوا لَهُنَّ فَرِيضَةًۚ وَمَتِّعُوهُنَّ عَلَى الْمُوسِعِ قَدَرُهُ وَعَلَى الْمُقْتِرِ قَدَرُهُ مَتَاعًا بِالْمَعْرُوفِۖ حَقًّا عَلَى الْمُحْسِنِينَ

There is no blame upon you if you divorce women you have not touched nor specified for them an obligation. But give them [a gift of] compensation – the wealthy according to his capability and the poor according to his capability – a provision according to what is acceptable, a duty upon the doers of good.

2.Surah Al-Baqarah (Verse 241)
وَلِلْمُطَلَّقَاتِ مَتَاعٌ بِالْمَعْرُوفِۖ حَقًّا عَلَى الْمُتَّقِينَ

And for divorced women is a provision according to what is acceptable – a duty upon the righteous.

2.Surah Al-Baqarah (Verse 282)
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِذَا تَدَايَنتُم بِدَيْنٍ إِلَىٰ أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى فَاكْتُبُوهُۚ وَلْيَكْتُب بَّيْنَكُمْ كَاتِبٌ بِالْعَدْلِۚ وَلَا يَأْبَ كَاتِبٌ أَن يَكْتُبَ كَمَا عَلَّمَهُ اللَّهُۚ فَلْيَكْتُبْ وَلْيُمْلِلِ الَّذِي عَلَيْهِ الْحَقُّ وَلْيَتَّقِ اللَّهَ رَبَّهُ وَلَا يَبْخَسْ مِنْهُ شَيْئًاۚ فَإِن كَانَ الَّذِي عَلَيْهِ الْحَقُّ سَفِيهًا أَوْ ضَعِيفًا أَوْ لَا يَسْتَطِيعُ أَن يُمِلَّ هُوَ فَلْيُمْلِلْ وَلِيُّهُ بِالْعَدْلِۚ وَاسْتَشْهِدُوا شَهِيدَيْنِ مِن رِّجَالِكُمْۖ فَإِن لَّمْ يَكُونَا رَجُلَيْنِ فَرَجُلٌ وَامْرَأَتَانِ مِمَّن تَرْضَوْنَ مِنَ الشُّهَدَاءِ أَن تَضِلَّ إِحْدَاهُمَا فَتُذَكِّرَ إِحْدَاهُمَا الْأُخْرَىٰۚ وَلَا يَأْبَ الشُّهَدَاءُ إِذَا مَا دُعُواۚ وَلَا تَسْأَمُوا أَن تَكْتُبُوهُ صَغِيرًا أَوْ كَبِيرًا إِلَىٰ أَجَلِهِۚ ذَٰلِكُمْ أَقْسَطُ عِندَ اللَّهِ وَأَقْوَمُ لِلشَّهَادَةِ وَأَدْنَىٰ أَلَّا تَرْتَابُواۖ إِلَّا أَن تَكُونَ تِجَارَةً حَاضِرَةً تُدِيرُونَهَا بَيْنَكُمْ فَلَيْسَ عَلَيْكُمْ جُنَاحٌ أَلَّا تَكْتُبُوهَاۗ وَأَشْهِدُوا إِذَا تَبَايَعْتُمْۚ وَلَا يُضَارَّ كَاتِبٌ وَلَا شَهِيدٌۚ وَإِن تَفْعَلُوا فَإِنَّهُ فُسُوقٌ بِكُمْۗ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَۖ وَيُعَلِّمُكُمُ اللَّهُۗ وَاللَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمٌ

O you who have believed, when you contract a debt for a specified term, write it down. And let a scribe write [it] between you in justice. Let no scribe refuse to write as Allah has taught him. So let him write and let the one who has the obligation [i.e., the debtor] dictate. And let him fear Allah, his Lord, and not leave anything out of it. But if the one who has the obligation is of limited understanding or weak or unable to dictate himself, then let his guardian dictate in justice. And bring to witness two witnesses from among your men. And if there are not two men [available], then a man and two women from those whom you accept as witnesses – so that if one of them [i.e., the women] errs, then the other can remind her. And let not the witnesses refuse when they are called upon. And do not be [too] weary to write it, whether it is small or large, for its [specified] term. That is more just in the sight of Allah and stronger as evidence and more likely to prevent doubt between you, except when it is an immediate transaction which you conduct among yourselves. For [then] there is no blame upon you if you do not write it. And take witnesses when you conclude a contract. Let no scribe be harmed or any witness. For if you do so, indeed, it is [grave] disobedience in you. And fear Allah. And Allah teaches you. And Allah is Knowing of all things.

3.Surah ‘Āli `Imrān (Verse 14)
زُيِّنَ لِلنَّاسِ حُبُّ الشَّهَوَاتِ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ وَالْبَنِينَ وَالْقَنَاطِيرِ الْمُقَنطَرَةِ مِنَ الذَّهَبِ وَالْفِضَّةِ وَالْخَيْلِ الْمُسَوَّمَةِ وَالْأَنْعَامِ وَالْحَرْثِۗ ذَٰلِكَ مَتَاعُ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَاۖ وَاللَّهُ عِندَهُ حُسْنُ الْمَآبِ

Beautified for people is the love of that which they desire – of women and sons,heaped-up sums of gold and silver, fine branded horses, and cattle and tilled land.That is the enjoyment of worldly life, but Allah has with Him the best return.

24.Surah An-Nūr (Verse 31)
وَقُل لِّلْمُؤْمِنَاتِ يَغْضُضْنَ مِنْ أَبْصَارِهِنَّ وَيَحْفَظْنَ فُرُوجَهُنَّ وَلَا يُبْدِينَ زِينَتَهُنَّ إِلَّا مَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَاۖ وَلْيَضْرِبْنَ بِخُمُرِهِنَّ عَلَىٰ جُيُوبِهِنَّۖ وَلَا يُبْدِينَ زِينَتَهُنَّ إِلَّا لِبُعُولَتِهِنَّ أَوْ آبَائِهِنَّ أَوْ آبَاءِ بُعُولَتِهِنَّ أَوْ أَبْنَائِهِنَّ أَوْ أَبْنَاءِ بُعُولَتِهِنَّ أَوْ إِخْوَانِهِنَّ أَوْ بَنِي إِخْوَانِهِنَّ أَوْ بَنِي أَخَوَاتِهِنَّ أَوْ نِسَائِهِنَّ أَوْ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُهُنَّ أَوِ التَّابِعِينَ غَيْرِ أُولِي الْإِرْبَةِ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ أَوِ الطِّفْلِ الَّذِينَ لَمْ يَظْهَرُوا عَلَىٰ عَوْرَاتِ النِّسَاءِۖ وَلَا يَضْرِبْنَ بِأَرْجُلِهِنَّ لِيُعْلَمَ مَا يُخْفِينَ مِن زِينَتِهِنَّۚ وَتُوبُوا إِلَى اللَّهِ جَمِيعًا أَيُّهَ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ

And tell the believing women to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts and not expose their adornment except that which appears thereof and to wrap their khimar over their chests and not expose their adornment except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands’ fathers, their sons, their husbands’ sons, their brothers,their brothers’ sons, their sisters’ sons, their women, that which their right hands possess , or those male attendants having no physical desire, or children who are not yet aware of the private aspects of women. And let them not stamp their feet to make known what they conceal of their adornment. And turn to Allah in repentance, all of you, O believers, that you might succeed.

24.Surah An-Nūr (Verse 60)
وَالْقَوَاعِدُ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ اللَّاتِي لَا يَرْجُونَ نِكَاحًا فَلَيْسَ عَلَيْهِنَّ جُنَاحٌ أَن يَضَعْنَ ثِيَابَهُنَّ غَيْرَ مُتَبَرِّجَاتٍ بِزِينَةٍۖ وَأَن يَسْتَعْفِفْنَ خَيْرٌ لَّهُنَّۗ وَاللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ

And women of post-menstrual age who have no desire for marriage – there is no blame upon them for putting aside their outer garments [but] not displaying adornment. But to modestly refrain [from that] is better for them. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing.

57.Surah Al-Ĥadīd (Verse 12)
يَوْمَ تَرَى الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ يَسْعَىٰ نُورُهُم بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَبِأَيْمَانِهِم بُشْرَاكُمُ الْيَوْمَ جَنَّاتٌ تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَاۚ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِيمُ

On the Day you see the believing men and believing women, their light proceeding before them and on their right, [it will be said], “Your good tidings today are [of] gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein you will abide eternally.” That is what is the great attainment.

57.Surah Al-Ĥadīd (Verse 13)
يَوْمَ يَقُولُ الْمُنَافِقُونَ وَالْمُنَافِقَاتُ لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا انظُرُونَا نَقْتَبِسْ مِن نُّورِكُمْ قِيلَ ارْجِعُوا وَرَاءَكُمْ فَالْتَمِسُوا نُورًا فَضُرِبَ بَيْنَهُم بِسُورٍ لَّهُ بَابٌ بَاطِنُهُ فِيهِ الرَّحْمَةُ وَظَاهِرُهُ مِن قِبَلِهِ الْعَذَابُ

On the [same] Day the hypocrite men and hypocrite women will say to those who believed, “Wait for us that we may acquire some of your light.” It will be said,Go back behind you and seek light. And a wall will be placed between them with a door, its interior containing mercy, but on the outside of it is torment.

60.Surah Al-Mumtaĥanah (Verse 10)
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِذَا جَاءَكُمُ الْمُؤْمِنَاتُ مُهَاجِرَاتٍ فَامْتَحِنُوهُنَّۖ اللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِإِيمَانِهِنَّۖ فَإِنْ عَلِمْتُمُوهُنَّ مُؤْمِنَاتٍ فَلَا تَرْجِعُوهُنَّ إِلَى الْكُفَّارِۖ لَا هُنَّ حِلٌّ لَّهُمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحِلُّونَ لَهُنَّۖ وَآتُوهُم مَّا أَنفَقُواۚ وَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكُمْ أَن تَنكِحُوهُنَّ إِذَا آتَيْتُمُوهُنَّ أُجُورَهُنَّۚ وَلَا تُمْسِكُوا بِعِصَمِ الْكَوَافِرِ وَاسْأَلُوا مَا أَنفَقْتُمْ وَلْيَسْأَلُوا مَا أَنفَقُواۚ ذَٰلِكُمْ حُكْمُ اللَّهِۖ يَحْكُمُ بَيْنَكُمْۚ وَاللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ

O you who have believed, when the believing women come to you as emigrants,examine them. Allah is most knowing as to their faith. And if you know them to be believers, then do not return them to the disbelievers; they are not lawful(wives) for them, nor are they lawful [husbands] for them. But give them [i.e., the disbelievers] what they have spent. And there is no blame upon you if you marry them when you have given them their due compensation. And hold not to marriage bonds with disbelieving women, but ask for what you have spent and let them [i.e., the disbelievers] ask for what they have spent. That is the judgement of Allah; He judges between you. And Allah is Knowing and Wise.

60.Surah Al-Mumtaĥanah (Verse 12)
يَا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ إِذَا جَاءَكَ الْمُؤْمِنَاتُ يُبَايِعْنَكَ عَلَىٰ أَن لَّا يُشْرِكْنَ بِاللَّهِ شَيْئًا وَلَا يَسْرِقْنَ وَلَا يَزْنِينَ وَلَا يَقْتُلْنَ أَوْلَادَهُنَّ وَلَا يَأْتِينَ بِبُهْتَانٍ يَفْتَرِينَهُ بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِنَّ وَأَرْجُلِهِنَّ وَلَا يَعْصِينَكَ فِي مَعْرُوفٍۙ فَبَايِعْهُنَّ وَاسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُنَّ اللَّهَۖ إِنَّ اللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ

O Prophet, when the believing women come to you pledging to you that they will not associate anything with Allah, nor will they steal, nor will they commit unlawful sexual intercourse, nor will they kill their children, nor will they bring forth a slander they have invented between their arms and legs, nor will they disobey you in what is right – then accept their pledge and ask forgiveness for them of Allah. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

2.Surah Al-Baqarah (Verse 223)
نِسَاؤُكُمْ حَرْثٌ لَّكُمْ فَأْتُوا حَرْثَكُمْ أَنَّىٰ شِئْتُمْۖ وَقَدِّمُوا لِأَنفُسِكُمْۚ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّكُم مُّلَاقُوهُۗ وَبَشِّرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ

Your wives are a place of cultivation [i.e., sowing of seed] for you, so come to your place of cultivation however you wish and put forth [righteousness] for yourselves. And fear Allah and know that you will meet Him. And give good tidings to the believers.

2.Surah Al-Baqarah (Verse 226)
لِّلَّذِينَ يُؤْلُونَ مِن نِّسَائِهِمْ تَرَبُّصُ أَرْبَعَةِ أَشْهُرٍۖ فَإِن فَاءُوا فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ

For those who swear not to have sexual relations with their wives *73 is a waiting time of four months, but if they return [to normal relations] – then indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

2.Surah Al-Baqarah (Verse 228)

وَالَّذِينَ يُتَوَفَّوْنَ مِنكُمْ وَيَذَرُونَ أَزْوَاجًا يَتَرَبَّصْنَ بِأَنفُسِهِنَّ أَرْبَعَةَ أَشْهُرٍ وَعَشْرًاۖ فَإِذَا بَلَغْنَ أَجَلَهُنَّ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكُمْ فِيمَا فَعَلْنَ فِي أَنفُسِهِنَّ بِالْمَعْرُوفِۗ وَاللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرٌ

And those who are taken in death among you and leave wives behind – they,[the wives, shall] wait four months and ten [days]. And when they have fulfilled their term, then there is no blame upon you for what they do with themselves in an acceptable manner. And Allah is [fully] Aware of what you do.

2.Surah Al-Baqarah (Verse 240)
وَالَّذِينَ يُتَوَفَّوْنَ مِنكُمْ وَيَذَرُونَ أَزْوَاجًا وَصِيَّةً لِّأَزْوَاجِهِم مَّتَاعًا إِلَى الْحَوْلِ غَيْرَ إِخْرَاجٍۚ فَإِنْ خَرَجْنَ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكُمْ فِي مَا فَعَلْنَ فِي أَنفُسِهِنَّ مِن مَّعْرُوفٍۗ وَاللَّهُ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٌ

And those who are taken in death among you and leave wives behind – for their wives is a bequest: maintenance for one year without turning [them] out. But if they leave [of their own accord], then there is no blame upon you for what they do with themselves in an acceptable way. And Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise.

4.Surah An-Nisā’ (Verse 12)
وَلَكُمْ نِصْفُ مَا تَرَكَ أَزْوَاجُكُمْ إِن لَّمْ يَكُن لَّهُنَّ وَلَدٌۚ فَإِن كَانَ لَهُنَّ وَلَدٌ فَلَكُمُ الرُّبُعُ مِمَّا تَرَكْنَۚ مِن بَعْدِ وَصِيَّةٍ يُوصِينَ بِهَا أَوْ دَيْنٍۚ وَلَهُنَّ الرُّبُعُ مِمَّا تَرَكْتُمْ إِن لَّمْ يَكُن لَّكُمْ وَلَدٌۚ فَإِن كَانَ لَكُمْ وَلَدٌ فَلَهُنَّ الثُّمُنُ مِمَّا تَرَكْتُمۚ مِّن بَعْدِ وَصِيَّةٍ تُوصُونَ بِهَا أَوْ دَيْنٍۗ وَإِن كَانَ رَجُلٌ يُورَثُ كَلَالَةً أَوِ امْرَأَةٌ وَلَهُ أَخٌ أَوْ أُخْتٌ فَلِكُلِّ وَاحِدٍ مِّنْهُمَا السُّدُسُۚ فَإِن كَانُوا أَكْثَرَ مِن ذَٰلِكَ فَهُمْ شُرَكَاءُ فِي الثُّلُثِۚ مِن بَعْدِ وَصِيَّةٍ يُوصَىٰ بِهَا أَوْ دَيْنٍ غَيْرَ مُضَارٍّۚ وَصِيَّةً مِّنَ اللَّهِۗ وَاللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَلِيمٌ

And for you is half of what your wives leave if they have no child. But if they have a child, for you is one fourth of what they leave, after any bequest they [may have] made or debt. And for them [i.e., the wives] is one fourth if you leave no child. But if you leave a child, then for them is an eighth of what you leave, after any bequest you [may have] made or debt. And if a man or woman leaves neither ascendants nor descendants but has a brother or a sister, then for each one of them is a sixth. But if they are more than two, they share a third, after any bequest which was made or debt, as long as there is no detriment [caused]. *146 [This is] an ordinance from Allah, and Allah is Knowing and Forbearing.

4.Surah An-Nisā’ (Verse 23)
حُرِّمَتْ عَلَيْكُمْ أُمَّهَاتُكُمْ وَبَنَاتُكُمْ وَأَخَوَاتُكُمْ وَعَمَّاتُكُمْ وَخَالَاتُكُمْ وَبَنَاتُ الْأَخِ وَبَنَاتُ الْأُخْتِ وَأُمَّهَاتُكُمُ اللَّاتِي أَرْضَعْنَكُمْ وَأَخَوَاتُكُم مِّنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ وَأُمَّهَاتُ نِسَائِكُمْ وَرَبَائِبُكُمُ اللَّاتِي فِي حُجُورِكُم مِّن نِّسَائِكُمُ اللَّاتِي دَخَلْتُم بِهِنَّ فَإِن لَّمْ تَكُونُوا دَخَلْتُم بِهِنَّ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَحَلَائِلُ أَبْنَائِكُمُ الَّذِينَ مِنْ أَصْلَابِكُمْ وَأَن تَجْمَعُوا بَيْنَ الْأُخْتَيْنِ إِلَّا مَا قَدْ سَلَفَۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ غَفُورًا رَّحِيمًا

Prohibited to you [for marriage] are your mothers, your daughters, your sisters, your father’s sisters, your mother’s sisters, your brother’s daughters, your sister’s daughters, your [milk] mothers who nursed you, your sisters through nursing,your wives’ mothers, and your step-daughters under your guardianship [born] of your wives unto whom you have gone in. But if you have not gone in unto them, there is no sin upon you. And [also prohibited are] the wives of your sons who are from your [own] loins, and that you take [in marriage] two sisters simultaneously, except for what has already occurred. Indeed, Allah is ever Forgiving and Merciful.

4.Surah An-Nisā’ (Verse 129)
وَلَن تَسْتَطِيعُوا أَن تَعْدِلُوا بَيْنَ النِّسَاءِ وَلَوْ حَرَصْتُمْۖ فَلَا تَمِيلُوا كُلَّ الْمَيْلِ فَتَذَرُوهَا كَالْمُعَلَّقَةِۚ وَإِن تُصْلِحُوا وَتَتَّقُوا فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ غَفُورًا رَّحِيمًا

And you will never be able to be equal [in feeling] between wives, even if you should strive [to do so]. So do not incline completely [toward one] and leave another hanging. And if you amend [your affairs] and fear Allah – then indeed,Allah is ever Forgiving and Merciful.
